Harsher in Hindsight: Rey and Eddie feuding over their custody over the former's son Dominik is made hard to watch by 2022 when the now-adult Dominik pulls a Face Heel Turn; betraying his own dad and Edge after winning their match against Judgment Day on Clash at the Castle, and then joins Judgment Day on the night after. And the crowd chanting "Eddie's Son!" when Dom stands beside Rhea Ripley didn't help either.
HSQ: Taken Up to Eleven in his first "I-Quit" match with Chavo Guerrero on Smack Down. And the biggest "holy shit" moment of the match was that Chavo actually won, by hanging Mysterio upside-down from the set and smashing his knee with a chair until Mysterioscreamed the words.
Only for a rather nasty case of History Repeats to come into play later on with Mysterio hanging Chavo upside down on a turnbuckle and doing the exact same thing to Chavo. Unsurprisingly, Chavo quit that time.
Too Good to Last: YMMV by miles on that one, but at one point, Rey actually managed to win the WWE championship. Almost the whole locker room was celebrating, until later on in the night... guess who got a title shot?
Win the Crowd: Not so much the crowd, but the fact that Rey has become World Champion makes this more of a corporate one. Due to his size, wrestling style and the fact he isn't a star "made" by WWE, Vince McMahon was reluctant to ever push Rey into the main event. The sheer quality of his matches and ability to get over with WWE's target demographic, however, eventually led to him becoming one of the company's biggest names and a consistent main eventer.
Iron Woobie, that is. Nobody ever had a harder road to the World Heavyweight Championship, but Rey hardly ever cracked on his way to victory
↑Rey and Eddie's feud over who gets to keep Dominik back in 2005 is once again brought up following Dom's Face Heel Turn in 2022. (See Harsher in Hindsight above)
