Scarred Souls Shine like Stars!
SSSS.DYNAZENON is a 2021 anime series produced by Tsuburaya Productions in collaboration with Studio Trigger, serving as a sequel to 2018's SSSS.GRIDMAN. The project is part of the shared Gridman Universe multimedia project established in 2018, which features projects themed after/inspired by the 1993–94 tokusatsu series Denkou Choujin Gridman. The series premiered in Japan on April 2, 2021 with an English-subtitled simulcast from Funimation. Graphinica returns to provide CGI and compositing, along with serving as an additional co-producer on the series.
One day on his way home, a first-year student of Fujiyokidai High School named Yomogi Asanaka meets a mysterious man named Gauma who claims to be a "Kaiju User". Suddenly, a Kaiju and a giant robot, Dynazenon, appear! Yume Minami, Koyomi Yamanaka, and Chise Asukagawa also happen to be passing by, and together with Yomogi they are caught up in a battle with the Kaiju.
- The Beastmaster: Kaiju Users are able to perform an Instance Domination that allows them to link and control Kaijus.
- Kaiju: Kaiju are grown from Kaiju Seeds spread by the Kaiju Eugenicists when they have absorbed enough emotions from human.
- Super Robot: The titular mech is preternatural robot that needs 4 pilots to function to fight Kaiju. It's composed of 4 different machines that separate while also being able to combine with Dyna Soldier for other combinations if there are problems with the other components.
- Super Robot Genre: Kaiju that attack the city and of a mysterious origin while a group of untrained and inexperienced teens and young adults fights them in a giant robot. The anime fits the genre!
