"Pathetic. You are still so weak. I will return in ONE WEEK. Use your newfound powers well, before I drag you down to hell!"
—Ancient One, Sacrifights
|
Sacrifights is an Action Horror Video Game that was released on May 7, 2019. It was developed and published by FrankieSmileShow and LumpyTouch for the PC.
A young man has discovered an ancient ritual. This ritual will grant him immeasurable power. However, the ritual summons the Ancient One, who defeats him in short order. He is given one week to gain new powers and get stronger before the Ancient One returns and drags him down to hell. In order to gain these powers and get stronger, he must summon other demons and defeat them, as well as eat as many power-ups as he can. Will the young man gain immeasurable power, or will he be dragged down to hell?

- Bleep, Dammit!: Upon defeat, ArachnoDemon and Demon Resources Manager will sometimes say, "YOU MOTHER[BLEEP]!"
- Big Bad: The Ancient One. When the young man foolishly summons him, the Ancient One defeats him with ease. He gives the young man a week to get stronger before he drags him down to hell. Needless to say, he is also the final boss of the game.
- Big No: Upon defeat, the Ancient One will sometimes say, "Nooo! Nooo!"
- Blood Knight: The Ancient One. It is strongly implied that he wanted the young man to get stronger so that he could enjoy crushing him at his strongest.
- Bond Villain Stupidity: The Ancient One easily defeats the young man at the beginning of the game. Rather than immediately dragging him down to hell, he decides to let him live and give him seven days to get stronger before doing that. By the time he comes back, the young man has become powerful enough to defeat him easily.
- Boss Banter: Arachnoclown, ArachnoDemon, Archsuccubus, Cyclubbus, Demon CEO, Demon Cyclops, Demon Executive, Demon Resource Manager, Ettin, Infernatron 9000 and Robodemon love to talk while fighting the young man.
- Boss Game: This is the game in a nutshell. The young man will spend a lot of time in the basement fighting against bosses and taking whatever power-ups that they drop. He can spend time between fights eating power-ups and/or sleeping in bed upstairs.
- Cannibalism Superpower: The young man is encouraged, if not required, to eat Goats' Heart (Life +1, Strength +1), Brain (Seal +1, shots will home in on demons), Eyeball (Move Speed +1, shots will be faster), Demon Tongue (Seal +1, Defense +1), Lungs (Attack Speed +1), Slimy Goo (Defense +1, shots will split in multiple directions on impact), Intestines (Strength +1), Stomach (Life +1, shots will burst into flame on impact) and Blood Clot (Attack Speed +1, shots will do more damage). As the notes in parentheses suggest, eating these will not only increase the young man's stats, but also grant him additional powers.
- Celestial Deadline: After the Ancient One defeats the young man, he will give him one week to get stronger before he comes back to drag him to hell. If the young man goes upstairs, he will even find the number of days left marked in blood on the floor.
- Curb Stomp Battle: When the young man starts the ritual, he summons the Ancient One. The Ancient One easily breaks the seal and defeats the young man in one blast. Of course, provided that the young man raises his stats high enough, he will be able to do this to the Ancient One.
- Dragged Off to Hell: The Ancient One warns the young man that he will come back in seven days and do this to him.
- Evil Sounds Deep: Out of all the demons that the young man faces, the Ancient One easily has the deepest voice.
- Evil Versus Evil: The young man versus the Ancient One. The young man wants immeasurable power. The Ancient One wants to kill the young man and drag him off to hell.
- Geometric Magic: The young man relies on a pentagram inside three circles to summon a monster and keep it temporarily sealed. He should also grab sigils that pop up to sustain the seal.
- Giant Spider: ArachnoDemon, Arachnoclown and Demon CEO are clear-cut examples. The Demon Resources Manager and Archsuccubus are borderline examples, due to having a spider's head but not a spider's body.
- Heart Trauma: At the end of the week, the young man will fall unconscious. He will wake up to discover that his heart has been literally separated from him. He must use it to summon the Ancient One and kill him once and for all.
- Hopeless Boss Fight: The Ancient One is the first boss that the young man faces. Sadly, he has only one point of health and no ability to fight back. In short, you have to let the Ancient One beat him.
- Horny Devils: The Succubus is a clear-cut example. Archsuccubus is a borderline example, because this creature is essentially the Succubus with an extra spider head.
- I Need You Stronger: This is implied to be the reason why the Ancient One gives the young man one week to get stronger rather than just dragging him down to hell. After all, it is more fun defeating an opponent when they are at their strongest.
- Mix-and-Match Critters:
- Arachnoclown has the head and four arms of the Demon of Fun and the rest of ArachnoDemon.
- Archsuccubus is essentially Succubus with an extra pair of arms and the head of ArachnoDemon as a second head.
- Cyclubbus has the legs, torso and right arm of Succubus and the head and left arm of Demon Cyclops.
- Demon CEO has two heads and two arms of the Demon Executive and the main body and two legs of ArachnoDemon.
- Demon Intern has the head of the Mummified Demon, the arms of the Demon of Fun, the torso of the Demon Executive and the legs of Demon Cyclops.
- Demon Resources Manager has the head and arms of ArachnoDemon and the torso and legs of the Demon Executive.
- Demon Secretary has the head, torso and right arm of Succubus, the left arm of the Demon of Fun and the legs of the Demon Executive.
- Ettin is a two-headed version of Demon Cyclops.
- Infernatron 9000 is a two-headed version of Robodemon.
- Mishapen Demon is a two-headed, four-armed version of Zombie Demon.
- Wounded Demon has the head, torso and right arm of the Mummified Demon and the left arm and legs of the Zombie Demon.
- Monster Clown: Demon of Fun. Arachnoclown is a combination of this and giant spider.
- Multiple Head Case:
- The Ancient One stands out for having three different heads.
- Archsuccubus has the head of Succubus and the head of ArachnoDemon.
- Ettin has two of the same head.
- Infernatron 9000 has two of the same head.
- Mishapen Demon has two similar, but not exactly the same, heads.
- Mummy: The Wounded Demon and Mummified Demon are clear-cut examples. The Demon Intern is a borderline example, due to wearing a suit and having a mummy's head.
- Our Zombies Are Different: The Zombie Demon and Mishapen Demon seem to be Type Mishmash. They are not doing anyone's bidding, they are not constructs, they do not eat flesh, they do not spread plague or parasites, and they are particularly intelligent. Instead, they just chase the young man around and vomit green acid.
- Portmanteau: "Sacrifights" is a combination of "sacrifice" and "fights."
- Robotic Psychopath: Robodemon and Infernatron 9000. They do not obey humans and will try to kill the young man on sight.
- Sexy Secretary: The Demon Secretary. Upon being summoned, she says, "Mmm…you're just my type."
- Shout-Out:
- When the young man defeats Robodemon and Infernatron 9000, they will sometimes say, "Existence…is…SUFFERING!" This line is the common translation of the First Noble Truth of Buddhism.
- ArachnoDemon, Demon Resources Manager and Archsuccubus will sometimes say, "Hello, human. Welcome to die!" The line "Welcome to die!" was first uttered by Magneto in X-Men (video game).
- Sinister Silhouettes: The Ancient One appears as a silhouette at the beginning of the game. It is only at the very end that he fully reveals himself.
- Slasher Smile: This appears on the young man's face once he gains immeasurable power from killing the Ancient One.
- Take Over the World: Judging from the young man's evil grin in the ending, it is likely that he will use his newfound power to do this.
- The Goomba: The Demon Intern. This fellow has no long-range attacks, and the seal should hold him long enough for the young man to destroy him. If the seal does give out, the Demon Intern will just walk very slowly towards the young man. The young man can easily defeat this character, even if all of his stats are at zero.
- This Cannot Be!: When the Ancient One is defeated, sometimes he will say, "Im…possible!"
- Villain Protagonist: The young man. No matter how you look at it, performing a satanic ritual to gain immeasurable power is what a villain would do. The young man's evil grin in the ending simply confirms his status as a villain.
- What Is This Thing You Call Love?: Both Robodemon and Infernatron 9000 will sometimes say, "What is the meaning of…love?"
- You Kill It, You Bought It: Killing the Ancient One results in the young man obtaining his immeasurable power.
How will you change the world?
