SR2 Awesome

Just two badasses going at it with katanas...

  • The first mission Jailbreak, where the Boss escapes Stilwater Penitentiary with Carlos by breaking out of the infirmary, making it to shore and fending off helicopters and police boats with a boat-mounted machine gun.
  • The Boss is broke when they break out of prison, and proceeds to dismantle three of the most powerful gangs in the world along with their mega-corporation sponsor.
  • The Ronin arc is full of badassery:
    • Pierce stands up to Johnny Gat when the latter criticises his casino heist plan for Saints Seven, then stares at Gat and stands up to him when Gat tell him to shut up.
    • In the opening cutscene for Bleeding Out, the Boss and Gat fight Jyunichi and about a dozen Ronin. Johnny impaled by Jyunichi by a katana, only to slam the enforcer on both sides of the head with his fists, stunning him while the Boss reloads their pistol. Jyunichi barely escapes with his life.
    • The Boss kills Jyunichi by beating him in a swordfight, with the Ronin enforcer backed up by groups of katana-wielding Ronin.
    • After the end of Visiting Hours, Ultor Head of Special Projects Dane Vogel meets with Kazuo and Shogo Akuji. Vogel doesn't let himself be insulted or intimidated by Kazuo, and the Ronin lose Ultor protection money as a result.
    • In Room Service, the Boss and Gat blow up a Ronin-owned hotel tower. The Boss does something straight out of a James Bond movie, base-jumping off the top floor's balcony and parachuting down as the place explodes around them.
    • Gat in the closing cutscene of Rest in Peace.
    • Gat fighting off waves of Ronin to protect Mr. Wong in the opening cutscene of the final mission One Man's Junk.... Also, the sword fight between the Boss and Kazuo; props to the latter for winning. However, the Boss 'cheats' by shooting him in the chest, and jumps off the junk as it engulfs it and Kazuo.
  • The Boss and Sons of Samedi members also have their awesome moments in their arc
    • Bad Trip has the Boss kill over 50 Samedi while defending the Saints hideout so stoned their vision is impaired. The Boss also cleverly played dumb while high in The General's limousine, so that they could escape.
    • After Bonding Experience, The General cuts off Mr. Sunshine's left ear, which he takes very well, and stoically claims he "only needs one ear to to hear the whispers of the Loa".
    • Eternal Sunshine displays Sunshine's voodoo powers. While holding his voodoo doll, he is immortal and can fling the Boss across the room. It takes dozens of bullets and him dropping his voodoo doll to kill him. Heck, the Boss chops his head off with his machete just to make sure.
  • The entire Brotherhood arc, with the back-and-forth revenge plots made by the Boss and Maero.
    • In Bank Error in Your Favor, the Boss takes Maero's girlfriend Jessica hostage, takes her to the university where Maero is participating in a monster truck rally, and has him unintentionally crush her as revenge for the death of Carlos the previous mission.
    • In the ending cutscene to Jail Bait, Dane Vogel deals with a raging Maero with badass composure.
    • In The Enemy of my Enemy, the Boss has to hijack the Brotherhood weapons shipment guarded by Ultor security personnel, then defend it from three waves of Brotherhood coming in via boats and helicopters. Boss fights them off with the assault rifle and RPG ammo stashed on the ship.
    • The Siege has the Boss fighting their way to the Brotherhood hideout's rooftop, where they fight Maero, who is armed with a minigun. The cutscene that follows is a brutal, relentless brawl between the Boss and Maero, which even if it isn't playable, is one of the most epic moments of the game, especially considering that both characters have extremely valid reason to hate each other's guts. The Boss forced Maero to flee on a pickup truck driven by Donnie.
    • The final mission Showdown has the Boss fight Maero in the Ultor Dome, with the Boss on his own against Maero in his monster truck as well as multiple vehicles of Brotherhood. Of course the Boss wins, and finally kills Maero, and therefore, his gang for good.
  • In the opening cutscene to Picking A Fight, the first Ultor mission, the Boss reacts to an ambush by the police at a nightclub by diving behind a bar using the bartender as a shield. As the police approach the bar, they throw a lighter in the air, which ignites the spilled alcohol and causes a small explosion to disorient the cops, so that they can escape.
  • The Power Walk finale after the Boss kills Dane Vogel.
  • The Ultor secret mission Revelation has the Boss and Julius go on one final team-up together, taking on what appears to be the entire Ultor Corporation military. The Boss then avenges themselves by killing Julius.
  • If the Boss mugs fifty people, news anchor Jane Valderrama becomes a homie. As a homie, she is psychotically obsessed with them, professing their love for them during battle.
  • The Ultor Exposed DLC has the Boss and pornstar Tera Patrick face down a huge number of Ultor goons. The final battle pitches the Boss a fleet of military helicopters that they have to personally down with a rocket launcher.
  • The Activities and some Diversions are built around Rule of Cool, such as Trail Blazing, Insurance Fraud, vehicle surfing and Fight Club.
