Gender bending doesn't get more lore heavy than this.
SapphireFoxx is a website centering on gender bending and Transgender stories. The stories come in both comics and animation. While a lot of the content is pornographic, the stories are just as, if not more focused on beingvery much plot and character-driven. It was created and led by writer/animator Sam Mokler.
Tropes used in SapphireFoxx include:
- Attractive Bent Gender: Several of the men who transform into women were either ugly or average looking before the transformation like Mason Burkhart, Austin Foster, and Bucket. After tranforming, they become absolute babes.
- Camp Gay: Some gay guys like Brandon from Marriage Counseling are flamboyant af.
- First Law of Gender Bending: Whenever a male character gets turned into a female character, they almost always want to stay as female. This justified as a lot of the "men" who transform into women turn out to be transgender women via Sylvana's gender curse.
- Gender Bender: The entire appeal of the stories is watching people transform into other genders. This is often done in a variety of ways such as body skin, body-enhancing gel, or even just simple natural transitioning via hrt and exercise. But the most common method of transformation is via magic.
- Genre Roulette: The stories can range from slice-of-life (Getting Into Character, Shifting Roommates) to sci-fi (Crossfire, Maker's Game) to fantasy (Awakening, The King's Heirs) to supernatural mystery (Cinder Isle). The only thing linking them all together is gender bending.
- Girl-On-Girl Is Hot: You see tons of lesbian sex and making out in the stories, but not a lot of gay male sex. The most you'll get with the latter is a couple of kisses and brief glimpses of porn that the characters watch in-universe.
- Jumping the Gender Barrier: Several same-sex friendships becoming romances after one of them changes gender. Examples include Mariah and Gary from Stealing From Sis, Jamie and Scott from Shifting Roommates, and Hannah and Dylan from Stealing From Sis: Wedding Bells.
- Last Het Romance: Chris was Holly's last boyfriend before she realized she's a lesbian and not bisexual as she previously thought.
- Manly Gay: Tom from An Untrusting Fiance is a buff bodybuilder guy who is openly gay.
- Second Law of Gender Bending: While a character being transgender is usually a factor as to why the transformed character is happier after gender bending, sometimes they simply feel happier and more comfortable as the opposite gender such as the cases of Daisy McBride and Alyssa Foster.
- Shared Universe: While Mokler writes and supervises most of the stories, multiple people have written their own comics and animations but they usually seem to exist in the same universe.
- Transgender: Several of the "men" who transform into women are revealed to be experiencing gender dysphoria and becoming a lot happier after transforming.
- The Twink: Kelvin and Leon are were fairly skinny men, the latter also being gay.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Brandon from Marriage Counseling. Riley and Robin from Halloween Switch count as well.
