Shiny Nose aka Shiny jellybean nose or wet animal nose is a cartoon way of depicting an animal's (usually furry mammals) nose. It is a trope usually isolated to Western animation but is sometimes used in Anime.
An animal such as a dog has a wet nose which is far more sensitive to smell than ours, in cartoons the wet shinyness is shown semi realistically to a simple white ellipsis on top to show where light is reflecting.
Expect animal characters such as Anthros to have this kind of nose, animals may also sniff things like dogs do in real life. Characters may even have strange coloured noses being technicolored animals.
