- Hype Backlash: Part of the reason why this show wasn't well-received was that everyone expected it to be the cartoon version of Arrested Development (considering that most of the crew members involved with "Sit Down, Shut Up" also wrote for AD)
- Too Good to Last: When a show breaks as many rules as this, what else could it be? Mileage varies on whether its cancellation was good or bad: a lot of critics and fans were disappointed that this show wasn't Arrested Development: The Animated Series and was more like Family Guy with a dysfunctional public school staff and raunchier jokes (some of which did fall flat), which led them to brand the show as either average or horrible.
