Trivia about Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron includes:
- Box Office Bomb: The film opened in the wake of Spider-Man and the second Star Wars prequel. Not long afterwards the much more kid accessible Lilo and Stitch was also relaised. The films premise about a mostly silent western adventure coming of age drama involving a horse who only "thinks" and never outright speaks also contributed to this. This ended up being as the penultimate hand drawn film relaised from DreamWorks and nowadays they only make CGI films.
