Trivia about Star Wars Legends includes:

  • Approval of God/Disowned Adaptation: Zig-zagged between the two, if largely falling on the latter. While George Lucas enjoyed some parts of Legends and gave them his support, such as Dark Empire, there are other parts he has nothing but open contempt for, key among them being Mara Jade.
  • Executive Meddling: While the upper management of Lucasfilm generally didn't care too much what Legends did, there were five big rules that everyone had to play by.
    • Space Age Stasis and Status Quo Is God had to hold. No one could radically alter the galaxy either technologically or ideologically. Until the release of the Prequels, writers were forbidden from setting anything prior to A New Hope, barring a few stories that had been released before the rule. Legacy got around this because it was set so far in the future.
    • Luke, Han and Leia have Plot Armor made of Beskar. The only reason Luke is dead in Legacy is because - assuming he didn't die some other way - he would have died of old age by that point.
    • No one can tell the story of Yoda's past or his species. A counterpart to this rule existed for Sidious but it was eventually lifted, allowing Darth Plagueis to be published.
    • Wookiees cannot be Force-sensitive. The only exception, Gungi, had to be approved by George Lucas himself.
    • Likewise, Hutts cannot be Force-sensitive. There already was one Force-sensitive Hutt, Beldorion, at the time the rule was established so it may have come from someone in upper management not liking the idea.
  • Exiled From Continuity: Everything about it was rendered non-canon in 2014, though some pieces have slowly immigrated to the Star Wars Expanded Universe.
