Stargirl is a 2020 DC Universe live-action web series, based on the comic book of the same name by Geoff Johns, who is also the executive producer on the series.

Tropes used in Stargirl (TV series) include:
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Beth Chapel, Rick Tyler and Yolanda Montez have a lot more issues than their comic book counterparts.
  • Adaptational Heroism: The Injustice Society call themselves that because they see themselves as lashing out against injustice, and overall they are portrayed as Punch Clock VillainsSubverted with Sportsmaster and Tigress, who are just as nasty as their comic counterparts.
  • Adaptational Wimp:
    • The comic versions of the Flash and Green Lantern would mop the floor with the Injustice Society roster used in this show. Here, they both get killed OFFSCREEN.
    • Likewise, comic Wizard would stomp comic Icicle. Here, Icicle effortlesly kills Wizard.
  • Badass Normal: Sportsmaster, Tigress and Artemis don't have powers.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Rick (Hourman) and Cameron (Icicle Jr.), escalating in Season 3. It mostly stems from Rick’s hate for the ISA and by extension, Cameron’s father, Icicle. Cameron doesn’t know that his father is a supervillain and is bemused by Rick’s attitude. Rick constantly provokes Cameron.
    • Yolanda (Wildcat) and Cindy (Shiv).
  • Composite Character: Pat Dugan is Starman.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Most of the original members of the Justice Society.
    • The Wizard
  • Eating Lunch Alone: Beth, Yolanda, and Rick all eat alone at a designated table:
