Superman is the first movie in Gunn's DC Universe. In addition to introducing the Superman of Gunn's DC Universe, it also introduces several characters (some of them having counterparts in the DC Extended Universe, others unique to Gunn's DC Universe) that will play a part in future movies and shows in Gunn's DC Universe.
