*[[I Want My Beloved to Be Happy]]: Despite her own sexual desires for her brother, she fully supports his relationship with Yukikaze. Although it's heavily implied that Rinko wants to, or a least won't mind, being in a[[Polyamory| threesome relationship with]] them.

After being endlessly sexual tortured for '''two weeks''' straight by Under Eden's "flesh vessel" (see Real's entry for more details), the first thing she does after being released was break down in broken laughter.

This is subverted in TY2, where it is revealed that she was indeed brainwashed, thank to a microchip know as "Eve" that was implanted on her brain stem.

In General

Taimanin

Main Members. From left to right: Murasaki Yatsu, Yukikaze Mizuki, Sakura Igawa, Asagi Igawa, and Rinko Akiyama.

Taimanin or "Anti-Demon Ninjas". A group of super powered ninjas tasked with dealing with the corruptions created by demons and "evil influenced" people. Each taimanin seems to have their own unique superhuman ability (e.g. Asagi's Super Speed, Sakura's ability to travel through shadows, Yukikaze's ability to generate lighting, and etc.). Most taimanin live in the fictional village of Gokuruma, which doubles as their base of operation. Younger taimanin are trained at Gosha Academy. Usually taimanin are often paired in teams of two when going on missions, sometimes three or more depending on the difficult of the mission. However, more experienced veteran Taimanin have been known to go on solo missions.

  • Action Girl: Many of the female Taimanins, although they tend to zigzag between this and Faux Action Girls. Played straight in Taimanin RPGX and Action.
  • Airplane Arms: The opening of Taimanin Asagi Zero shows that Taimanin tend do this when they run, like most other anime ninjas.
  • Amazon Brigade: Subverted. While most of the Taimanin featured are female, there are several male members within their ranks, notable examples include Kurou Yatsu, Tatsurou Akiyama, and Fuuma Kotarou.
  • Angst? What Angst?: Being able to invoke this trope seems to be a job requirement. It's also one of the only explanations for why every Taimanin who has gotten tortured/raped, ESPECIALLY Asagi, hasn't gone completely insane. This can be subverted in the series's many Downer Ending routes, but those are all non-canon to the main story, and are more like What If scenarios.
  • Badass Crew: They are a group of super powered, Demon Slaying ninjas.
  • Badass Family: The occupation is a family business. Examples include the Igawa sisters (Asagi and Sakura) and the Yatsu siblings(Murasaki, Kurou, and Aiko). Also, the Mizuki, Akiyama, and Kokawa families have apparently been Taimanins for generations, and all the Fuuma Clan members appearing in the series are also Taimanins (though previously they were pretty much neutral). The Fridge Brilliance in this is that most taimanins acquire their abilities genetically, as its implied that all taimanins have some form of demon lineage.
  • Badass in Distress: Tends to be a requiring theme throughout the visual novels.
  • Bowdlerise: In Action Taimanin since it is the franchise's first non-Hentai game. Action alters many of character designs by removing the nipple bugles and camel toe that comes with wearing Form-Fitting Wardrobe. The IOS version of Action takes it a step further and adds additional coverings to their suits.
  • Cartwright Curse: While dating a sexy demon slaying ninja sound awesome on paper, many of the boyfriends of a female Taimanin tends to end up being a Cosmic Plaything in this series, just ask Kyousuke and Tatsurou. Averted with Kotarou, but he's a notable exception being an actually capable ninja in the story.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Each has their own uniquely colored uniform.
  • Conveniently an Orphan: Most Taimanin tend to be this with Yukikaze and Kurenai being the few aversions.
  • Combat Stilettos: All female taimanin wear them, because Rule of Sexy.
  • Demon Slaying: Their main job, hence the name "Anti-Demon Ninjas".
  • The Dreaded: Taimanin Murasaki states that demons fear them.
    • Into the bargain, ZERO mentions they are “objects of unparalleled hatred and fear.”
  • Dub Name Change: They are known as “Duimoren” in the Chinese translations.
  • Dude Magnet: Many of the female Taimanins fit this description, but in a Crapsack World filled with depraved rapists, this isn't a good thing.
  • Elemental Powers: Several Taimanin possess ninja arts that give then their own "attribute". Going over some examples:
  • Faux Action Girl: Zigzagged between being genuine Action Girls and this. They are usually portrayed as Action Girls during the standard Action Prologue in each installment. Since this series is a Hentai, they would spend most of the story being captured and sexually tortured by whoever is acting as the Big Bad at time. However, in most cases, the second they are free from whatever was keeping them subjugated to the villains... let's just say it does not end well for the bad guys.
    • The mobile/browser game Taimanin RPGX and Action mostly avert this, as they shows what and how Taimanins are actually doing in their line of work without getting trapped in the classical Hentai story premises.
  • Flash Step: All Taimanin seems to posses this ability.
  • Fighter, Mage, Thief: The main trio in Taimanin Yukikaze seems to fit this. Rinko is the Fighter being the Master Swordsman of the trio, whose fighting style is best equip to take on opponents at close range. Yukikaze is the Mage since she uses Handgun that shoot out lightning bullets. Out of the three, Yukikaze possesses the most destructive power. Tatsurou is the Thief since his wind abilities is best suited for stealth and support, but has the least offensive abilities.
  • Form-Fitting Wardrobe: Tends to be the standard uniform for most Taimanins.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Downplayed. The majority of the Taimanin are humans, but they do have some form of demon lineage. Meaning the nearly all of the Taimanin are "part-demon" even if the percentage is relatively small.
  • Heroic Lineage: Zigzagged with In the Blood. In TA2, its revealed that nearly all Taimanin are actually descendants of demons that have mated with humans, granted the exact circumstances of how this occurred has not been fully explored. This used to explain their supernatural powers, despite the fact that a majority of them are mostly human. However, the families that were created as the result of the union between humans and demons went on to form ninja clans that protect the innocent from monstrous demons and evil humans.
  • Highly-Visible Ninjas: Seeing as how brightly colored their uniforms are. There is also the fact that their outfits are more likely to draw attention.
  • Idiot Ball: Remember this is a Hentai, so naturally your favorite heroes are going to get hit with this hard, and repeatedly.
  • Instant Awesome: Just Add Ninja
  • Lovely Angels: Many of their two person teams tend to form this.
  • Lust Object: Comes with the territories of being heroes in a Hentai. Apparently, a captured female Taimanin is worth a small fortune in the criminal underworld and demon society.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Well this is a Hentai, so most of the female Taimanins fit this description.
  • Ninjas: A near-future Cyberpunk variation.
  • Ninja Brat: Many of the younger Taimanin like Sakura and Yukikaze fit this description.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Superhero, Demon Slaying Cyberpunk ninjas with demon ancestry. Individual members like Kurenai (half-vampire) and Asuka (cyborg) take it a step further.
  • OOC Is Serious Business: Taimanin are proud and strong-willed warriors, so if they get to a point where they start begging for mercy or more sex, it means they are already starting to break down.
  • Power Trio: Many of the taimanins form this. In the main games, we have Asagi, Sakura, and Murasaki. In the Taimanin Yukikaze Spin-Off series, we have Yukikaze, Rinko, and Tatsurou.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: While most bad endings would result in a Taimanin become a Sex Slave to the Big Bad of their game, there are a few instances where the Taimanin would also double as an enforcer for the villain. Mizuki Shiranui and Karin Sugita are canon examples of this.
  • Roof Hopping
  • Sexy Backless Outfit: Many of the Taimanin's uniforms have their backs complete exposed. Not only is this done because of Rule of Sexy, it makes the outfits more practical to taking them on and off.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: With a few exceptions like Rinko and some of the males, most Taimanin wear sleeveless uniforms, both as a showing of strength and because Rule of Sexy.
  • So Beautiful It's a Curse: Once again this is a rather dark Hentai, so naturally many of the female Taimanins suffer because of this.
  • Spy Catsuit: The standard uniform.
  • Stripperiffic: Many of the Taimanin tend to wear rather revealing outfits, as one would expect from a hentai.
  • Super-Powered Evil Side: According to Clone Oboro, all taimanins have the potential of acquiring this, due to their demon linage. So far, only Asagi and Kurenai has been able to obtain this. However, Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena does show what many of the Taimanins (including Sakura and Murasaki) would look like if they ever attain this power.
  • Superpowerful Genetics: Taimanin's have various abilities (Asagi can move at light speed, Sakura can travel through shadows, etc). Its actually implied by Oboro that most, if not all, Taimanins have some form of demon lineage, which would explain their supernatural abilities.
  • Vapor Wear: If it wasn't already obvious from the characters' profile images, most Taimanin don't wear anything under their uniform.

Asagi Igawa

Asagi Igawa full body

The main protagonist of the entire franchise. She is the strongest warrior of the Anti-Demon Ninjas. A female ninja of justice who fights demons and evil humans. She lost both of her parents at an early age and now acts as the guardian to her sister, Sakura. Ingenious at the martial art of fencing, she has speedily excelled in her training and is recognized for her achievements thus far as the strongest of those repelling the demon influence. Her childhood friend, and her love, Kyousuke Sawaki, was her on of her father's pupils. Above anything else, all Taimanin, like Asagi, live a life filled with danger and carnage, and as such, their duties always take priority. Thus is taboo for a Taimanin to marry a non-Taimanin, and as such, Asagi is forced, much too often, to cast away Kyousuke's love.

After the events of Taimanin Asagi 1, Asagi became the leader of the Taimanin and headmistress of Gosha Academy, the educational institution for all Taimanin. Using her supernatural abilities and skills as a master swordsman, Asagi is able to move beyond human perception. After the events of Taimanin Asagi 2, she was able to awaken a Super-Powered Evil Side that give her immeasurable strength but comes at the risk of Asagi losing her humanity if her were to rely on it too much. Her weapon of choice is a katana.

Asagi possesses the ninja art known as "Hawk Art". This ability allows Asagi to heighten her senses and physical capabilities. While using this ninja art, Asagi can move six times faster and views the world as though it was going in slow motion. Others will perceive her as moving at the speed of light. However, since her ninja art can be very taxing to Asagi's body, she cannot use this ability multiple times at once.

  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: In Taimanin Asagi 3. She is the adoptive mother of the teenaged Kosuke and Asuka.
  • The Ace: Often regarded as the "Strongest Taimanin" (or "Almighty Taimanin" for the official English translation in Action Taimanin).
  • Adaptational Jerkass: In ZERO's timeline, Asagi is an Insufferable Genius that look down on other Taimanin and strives to go solo for that reason. However, she does have a heart, see Jerk with a Heart of Gold below.
  • Alternate Self: In ZERO, where it revealed that there is actual two Asagi in that timeline, the young teenage rebel and Vampire Asagi from TA3 alternate bad ending.
  • Babies Ever After: A dark variation as Asagi gives birth to an orc child in one of the non-canon bad endings of TA3. She was shown to be heavily pregnant in episode 2 of the TA3 anime.
  • Badass: When not otherwise rendered unable to fight, she's pretty badass.
    • Badass in Distress: Comes with the territory of being the main protagonist in a hentai series centered around hardcore rape.
  • Badass Boast: Her less modest ZERO counterpart can dish these out at times, especially in the visual novel’s good ending. She also gives one to Kotarou Fuuma in Battle Arena.
    • Asagi: “It seems you know who I am, yet you dare to turn your blade against me? You think you'll be able to get away from this with just a bruise and a scratch?”
  • Balloon Belly: This happens to her a few times in the visual novels and OVA series due to cum inflation.
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: Let's just say that Asagi and her inner demon Kage don't often see eye to eye.
  • Betty and Veronica: Kousuke and Edwin Black, respectively, to her "Archie".
  • BFS: Gets a cool collapsible one to go along with her new Taimanin suit, neither last long unfortunately.
  • Bigger Bad: During The Reveal in TA0, where it turns out Vampire Asagi is this along with Edwin Black. The big reveal is that ZERO's timeline is actually a continuation of TA3 ending where Asagi become Edwin Black's vampire mate, and the two fused together to recreated the universe. Now Vampire Asagi want to regain a body of her own and plan to use her Alternate Self as a vessel.
  • Big Good: She acts as this in the RPGX storyline, being the academy's principal and Taimanin leader who assigns the protagonist on various missions.
  • Big Damn Hero: In Taimanin Yukikaze’s good ending, she saves both Yukikaze and Rinko before they were force to be Sex Slaves at Under Eden.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She is very protective of Sakura and would willingly suffer any form of torture if it would protect her sister. In the visual novel of TA2, Asagi's Super-Powered Evil Side was triggered when she thought Saya killed Sakura.
  • Boobs of Steel: She holds the title of the "Strongest Taimanin" has a bust size of 88-90 cm.
  • Breast Expansion: Happens to Asagi in the first game, is retained in the second onwards, even being a minor plot point in the second game.
  • Butt Monkey: Has an entire franchise focused on torturing her, her family, her friends, and students. Life isn't exactly good to her.
    • Throw the Dog a Bone: For all the misfortunes she has to endure, Asagi at least gets the last laugh on her enemies in general.
  • Cool Big Sis: Sakura considers her to be this.
  • Dark Mistress: To Edwin Black in any of the bad endings where she becomes his vampiric mate.
  • Deadpan Snarker: At times.
    • ??? (after being hit by a kunai): Y, you made me bleed...... Y, you’ll regret that!
    • Asagi: What, did Papa never slap that mouth?
  • Determinator: Possibly her most defining feature, in terms of personality.
  • Dirty Harriet: In Taimanin Asagi 2, she and Sakura disguise themselves as prostitutes while investigating the Tokyo Kingdom.
  • The Dreaded: According to Taimanin Yukikaze, her name alone is said to cause “the servants of darkness to shudder”.
  • Dub Name Change: Her name is “Ashaj” in the Chinese translations.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Characters from both genders are shown to be attracted to her, for example, Murasaki has a huge crush on her. However, this isn't necessarily a good thing, considering many have the female villains want to have their way with her.
  • Evil Costume Switch: Two. One happens when her Super-Powered Demonic Side takes over, which has a darker take on her usual kunoichi attire, and the other occurs courtesy of Edwin Black in one of the endings to the third game, in which Asagi gets turned into a vampire.
  • Expy: As a whole, Asagi is considered the Hentai version of Taki and Hibana.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The "Responsible Sibling" to Sakura's "Foolish Sibling".
  • Faux Action Girl: Is often shown losing a majority of her fights, but to be fair, her defeats are often caused by a case of Worf Had the Flu. Averted in RPGX and Action.
  • Fusion Dance: In TA3's bad ending and its continuation in TA0, it is revealed that Asagi and Edwin Black fused together and are sharing one body. The two can still interact with each other in a metaphysical sense, and the body will take the form of whoever is in control at the time. Although Vampire Asagi's goal is to reclaim a body of her own and plans to take possession of her Alternate Self in TA0 to do so.
  • Girly Bruiser: Asagi is more feminine than her sister and is often regarded as the “Strongest Taimanin.”
  • Green Eyes
  • Heir to the Dojo
  • Hidden Villain: Vampire Asagi in ZERO's alternate timeline, who has been secretly masterminding everything with Edwin Black, and desires to takes over her the body of her Alternate Self.
  • Human Mom, NonHuman Dad: Has been the "human mom" in several non-canon endings to different demon children. Her most notable non-canon child is her orc son, Big.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: In the first game. All she ever wanted was to settle down with her childhood friend and put her Taimanin days behind her. Unfortunately, her past caught up to her, and she decided to stay as a Taimanin ever since.
  • Instant Birth, Just Add Water: In one of TA3's bad endings, a pregnant Asagi gives birth to her orc son just mere minutes after her water breaks.
  • Insufferable Genius: In ZERO's timeline, Asagi is still a prodigy among other Taimanin, but this version of her let her talents go to her head.
  • Japanese Delinquents: In ZERO, where the younger, teenage Asagi broke off from the Taimanin working for the government to start her own gang. Funny enough, Asagi forces her followers to be actual good students at their high school, but still acts rebellious toward most authority figures.
  • Jail Bait Wait: Waited until Kousuke was of age (about roughly 9 years) before starting an intimate relationship with him. Granted, she probably didn't consider having a relationship with Kousuke until he was close to the age of consent.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: As insolent as she is in ZERO, Asagi at least dearly loves Sakura and is friendly toward Murasaki.
  • The Leaderess: Became the official leaderess of Taimanin organization sometime before the events of Taimanin Yukikaze.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Asagi's power allows her to move at the speed of light.
  • Lovely Angels: Forms this with Sakura during the first two games.
  • Magical Girlfriend: For her completely normal boyfriend, Kyousuke. Slightly subverted with Kousuke since, unlike his brother, Kousuke does possess some form of supernatural abilities.
  • The Mentor: Being a teacher at Goshu Academy and later the leader of the Taimanins, Asagi had a large part in training many of the younger Taimanins. Some of her students include her sister Sakura, Murasaki, Yukikaze, Rinko, Tatsuro, and her prodigy and adopted daughter, Asuka.
  • A Mother to Her Men
  • Ms. Robinson: In TA3, after she began to have a relationship with the teenaged Kousuke, the younger brother of her late boyfriend. Keep in mind that Asagi would be in her early 30s at this time.
  • Pay Evil Unto Evil:
    • When gathering info concerning the Chaos Arena in TA1, Asagi broke several antiques that belonged to an orc named Pig. She also used her blade’s ridge to strike him (though the first time she did it was out of self-defense), threatened to slay him, and shook the orc around several times. While this was certainly harsh, Pig also deserved it because orcs love to rape women as well as obsessed with it preoccupied with it to boot. Deconstructed as this apparently made the orc desire revenge.
    • In ZERO, Asagi gives Byg a brutal beatdown and even ruins one of his testicles. Cruel? Yes. That being said, Byg had it coming as he and his gang-raped numerous women until they died. Not to mention that he attempted to have Asagi’s limbs cut off and raped her like crazy. This is also deconstructed example as this resulted in Byg seeking revenge on her later in the visual novel.
    • In ZERO’s good ending, Asagi breaks the aforementioned Byg’s nose. Into the bargain, she devastated his other testicle. However, he deserved it as the orc had Asagi ravished constantly and forcibly inseminated with an orc tot. (As a side note, she did not even know the identity of its father.) Also deconstructed as the narrator states, “Even if [she] killed [him] thousands of times, [she] wouldn’t be satisfied...”
  • Promotion to Parent: After Kyousuke's death, she adopts his younger brother Kosuke and Asuka. Before that, she also raised Sakura after they were orphaned.
  • The Protagonist: For most of the franchise, particularly the main games.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Stated to be the most powerful Taimanin in-series, and her uniform is purple.
  • Red Baron: The "Strongest Taimanin" or the "Almighty Taimanin".
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Sakura's Red Oni.
  • Retirony: At the beginning of the first game, Asagi was planning to marry Kyousuke and leave the demon-hunting business...let's just say it didn't work out, and Asagi’s retirement was not permanent.
  • Screaming Birth: In one of TA3's bad endings when giving birth to her orc son, Big. Justified, as the Corrupted Sakura and Murasaki wanted to make the experience as painful to Asagi as possible and even forced her to give birth while standing up.
  • Settle for Sibling: Began to form a relationship with Kousuke, Kyousuke's younger brother, in TA3, almost ten years after Kyousuke's death.
  • Sex Slave: Was forced to be this on a couple of occasions.
  • Sibling Team: With Sakura.
  • Speed Blitz: Her unique ninja ability is basically this.
  • Spy Catsuit: Her signature outfit. Usually wears a purple one, but few occasions, she is also seen wearing a white one.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: She's definitely the more feminine of the two as opposed to her sister, being much more demure and ladylike.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: In the anime and one of TA3's non-canon bad endings, she ends up marrying the orc Dogle.
  • Unholy Matrimony:
    • In TA3 and TA0’s bad endings, Asagi can form one with Edwin Black in which she takes him up on his offer to rule the world together and becomes his mate.
    • In an alternate bad ending in TA3 and in the animated OVA (which also overlaps with Rape Is Love), the mind broken Asagi could end up forming one with the orc Dogle.
  • Victim Falls For Rapist:
    • In some of TA2’s bad endings, a mind-broken Asagi ends up viewing Oboro as her mistress and allows herself to be raped by demons as a means to please her.
    • In one of TA3's bad endings (which overlaps with Rape Is Love at that), Asagi ends up marrying, Dogle, an orc that also raped and impregnated her with his child.
  • Wife Husbandry: A gender-swap variation from the usual examples. Asagi is Kousuke's legal guardian after his brother's death, and has raised the boy for the past 9 years. Seeing as Kousuke would be in his mid-to-late teens in TA3, it's safe to say that Asagi has raised him since childhood, doesn't stop them from forming a relationship.
  • Worf Had the Flu: In her first fight in the arena, Asagi was in no condition to fight, so she was beaten. Even Sakura is surprised at her poor performance and some viewers believe she lost on purpose.
  • Younger and Hipper: In ZERO, where her age is changed from being a woman in her twenty to thirties in the main series, to being aged back down to a teenager.

Sakura Igawa

Sakura Igawa Full Body

A heroine and Asagi's younger sister. A beautiful girl with a winning, vigorous attitude and known for being brave and gallant. Much like Asagi, she's endowed with the strong ability of a ninja, yet her strength is still much at an apprentice level. She wants to use her strength for the benefit of justice, aspiring to become an Anti-Demon Ninja member, opposing evil with Asagi. Originally, she keeps her pursuit of knowledge and training hidden from her older sister until after the advents of TA1. Despite her sister's initial objections, Sakura was able to make a name for herself as an exemplary Taimanin and became Asagi's partner for many of their missions. When she isn't going on missions with her sister, she would usually be partnered up with her best friend Murasaki, who has a love-hate relationship with Sakura. While working as a duo, Sakura and Murasaki are given the nickname "Sakumara" by other Taimanin.

Sakura's main weapons are dual-wielding ninja daggers. Her ninja art is referred to as "Shadow Art", which gives Sakura the supernatural ability to meld into shadows or teleport between them. Although her strongest power is to give her shadows physical forms, and shape them into blades or dangerous shadow creatures like sharks and bears.

  • Adorkable: She can be quite the goofball at times.
  • Ambiguously Bi: She been shown to be attracted to guys, but has her Les Yay moments with Murasaki.
  • Babies Ever After: In one of the bad endings of TA0, where she ends up pregnant with a demon child.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: She tends to be rather childish and goofy outside of battle, but she is still a force to be reckoned with. In TA0, she was able to perform a very terrifying Mook Horror Show.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Sakura's ninja art allows her to control shadows. She can hide in them, give them physical form to turn them into blades or create terrifying shadow monsters that can rip her opponent to shreds. Despite having an ability that is best suited for an evil demon, Sakura is actually one of the nicest people among the Taimanin.
  • Boobs of Steel: As the series progress, she eventually becomes one of the Taimanin's best combatants and by TA3 her bust sizes measure out to 93 cm, which is larger than her sister's, who has a measurement of 90 cm at that point.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In Taimanin Asagi 3, Sakura and Murasaki are killed by enemy soldiers and then absorbed by Edwin Black. They are later brought back to life as demonic futanari with few if any memories of Asagi, and under Black's instructions to gleefully torture, rape, and kill their own students, and attempt to do the same to Asagi. In one of the endings, they even keep her as a sex slave.
  • Breast Expansion: Thanks to Oboro, Sakura suffers this in the OVA series in which her breasts were enlarged to gigantic proportions. In TA3, as a Mythology Gag, her breasts inflated to the same portions they were in the OVA for one of her H-scenes.
  • Casting a Shadow: Her ninja ability. Her main ability is to travel between shadows and create shadow creatures and blades.
  • Cat Smile: Most likely given to her to highlight her youthful personality.
  • Comically Missing the Point: At one point in Taimanin Murasaki, Sakura thought Murasaki was angry because she was on her period.
  • Cool Big Sis: Acts like this toward Kousuke.
  • Defiled Forever: Secretly feels this was about herself after losing her virginity to an orc in TA1. Although she seems to have gotten over it in later installments.
    • She doesn't fare much better in ZERO's timeline, when she losses her virginity to Snake Lady, which prove to be just as traumatizing to her, if not more so.
  • Demoted to Extra: Goes from being the Deuteragonist to a regular supporting character in Taimanin Asagi 3.Asuka ends up filling the role of the deuteragonist during that game. She returns to her deuteragonist role in TA0.
  • Dirty Harriet: In Taimanin Asagi 2, she disguised herself as a prostitute while investigating Tokyo Kingdom along with her sister.
  • Deuteragonist: In Taimanin Asagi 1, 2, and 0.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Has her Ship Tease moments with Murasaki. However, like her sister, the darker variation of this is that she has been raped by other women (namely Oboro, Saya, and Snake Lady) as a result.
  • Everythings Even Worse With Sharks: In TA0, one of the shadow creatures she is able to create are sharks and the way they deal with her opponents is both gore and terrifying.
  • Evil Aunt: In one of TA3 non-canon routes, Corrupted Sakura is this to her adoptive nephew, Kousuke, as she threatens to kill him unless Asagi follows her orders. In one of the non-canon bad endings, Corrupted Sakura also become this to Big, her biological nephew and Asagi's orc son.
  • Foil: To Asagi. While Asagi is normally serious, stern, and responsible, Sakura is energetic, silly, and carefree. Asagi is a veteran Taimanin, while Sakura is relatively new at being a Taimanin during the earlier parts of the series.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The "Foolish Sibling" to Asagi's "Responsible Sibling.”
  • Fun Personified: A happy, fun-loving, energetic young woman that tries her best to keep a positive attitude in a world that trying its absolute darnedest to break her.
  • Gamer Girl: It's shown in Action Taimanin that Sakura likes to play video games in her free time when she isn't watching anime instead.
  • Genki Girl: Sakura is probably one of the most energetic characters in the whole series.
  • Good Is Not Nice: She might a Genki Girl and one of the nicest people among the Taimanin, but she will still tear demons and evil humans apart in brutal fashion using her Shadow Art.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: Her preferred weapon, just like her sister.
  • Leotard of Power: Part of her pre-Taimanin Asagi 3 ninja outfit.
  • Living Shadow: Sakura's ninja art allows to become this when she melds into a shadow. There are also the shadow beasts that she can summon when using her powers.
  • Lovely Angels: Forms this with Asagi during the first two games. She later partners up with Murasaki in later installments.
  • Male Gaze:In the third anime when Sakura begins to be tortured, we can get a good view of her bare butt wiggling from side to side.
  • Modesty Shorts: Part of her civilian outfit in TA0. This might come off as a bit odd for a character in a Hentai.
  • Mook Horror Show: Rather surprising when one of the friendliest and goofiest Taimanin was able to pull this off in the opening of TA0 when she attacked a bunch of corrupt police officers with a swarm of her shadow sharks. The aftermath was not pretty.
  • Mythology Gag: Originally, her Breast Expansion occurred exclusively in OVA series. However, in TA3 her breasts are inflated again to the same gigantic portions they were in the OVA, but only for a single H-scene.
  • Otaku: Love to spend her free time watching anime, sentai shows, and playing video games.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Asagi's, and later Murasaki's, Blue Oni.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: In Asagi's non-canon route in TA3 and in the OVA (see Brainwashed and Crazy).
  • Sad Clown: Implied. Sakura would act like an optimistic Genki Girl, despite knowing fully well what kind of world she lives in. There are a few times during her moments of weakness where she admits she is traumatized by all the terrible things that have happened to her and views herself as being Defiled Forever. But she puts on a brave face so as not to worry her loved ones.
  • School Idol: Being Asagi's sister certainly helps, although many of the students at Goshu academy seems to like her more since Sakura is much more approachable than Asagi.
  • Sex Slave: Like her sister, Sakura was forced to be this on more than one occasion.
  • She Is All Grown Up: Her body is noticeable a lot more developed in Taimanin Asagi 3.
  • Sibling Team: Forms this with Asagi.
  • Sidekick: For Asagi until Taimanin Asagi 3.
  • Skilled but Naive: During the first couple of games. For a while, she didn't even know what unique ninja ability she possessed until later in the series.
  • Sore Loser: Sakura did not take losing to Murasaki well in Taimanin Murasaki.
  • Spy Catsuit: A brownish-gray one with yellow highlights.
  • Taking the Bullet: In Taimanin Asagi 2, Sakura does this to protect Asagi from Saya's attack. In the canon ending, this act is what fueled Asagi to use her inner demon, Kage, to defeat Saya. Although injured, she does survive this.
  • Tan Lines: She has a slight suntan in TA3, which is made much more noticeable when she is nude or wearing anything skimpier than her Taimanin outfit.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The Tomboy to Asagi's Girly Girl.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Sakura is more masculine than her sister and one of her cards in Battle Arena is called “[Tomboy] Sakura Igawa.” On the other hand, her costume she wore when participating in the Chaos Arena in TA0 has some pink.

  • Took a Level In Badass: Sakura becomes a combat instructor for Goshu Academy by the time of the third game.

  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Murasaki.
  • Woman Child: She can be a bit childish for her age (late-teens in TA1 and TA2, mid-20s in TA3).
  • Would Hurt a Child: Or at least when corrupted. See Evil Aunt above.

Murasaki Yatsu

Murasaki Yatsu Full Body

Murasaki Yatsu starts out as an up an coming Taimanin in training at Goshu academy and Kuroi Yatsu's younger sister. Despite her youth and inexperience, many veteran Taimanin, including Asagi, see great potential in Murasaki. Of course, due to her beauty and skills, she becomes the idol of Goshu academy, also developing a rivalry/friendship(much to her dismay)with Sakura. Similar to her brother Kurou, Murasaki's ninja ability grants her a vast Healing Factor which allows her to regrow entire limbs and Super Strength.

Murasaki's power basically grants her immortality unless her head and heart are destroyed.

  • The Ace: She is considered the second strongest Taimanin after Asagi.
  • Adaptational Badass: In Action Taimanin, Murasaki Special Attack involves barraging her opponent with Combat Tentacles sprouted from the back, an attack that Murasaki can't perform on her own in the visual novel. Murasaki can perform this attack in the H-games, but only after she has done a Fusion Dance with Kiryuu. It was explained that Kiryuu was able to give her a copy of his abilities without needing to fuse with her.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Sakura often refers to her as "Mu-chan". Murasaki is less than amused with the nickname.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Depending on the Artist. Sometimes she is drawn as having broad shoulders and noticeable muscle tone. Other times, she is given a more slender appearance.
  • And I Must Scream: In the non-canon "fallen heroes" bad ending of TA3, when Oboro alters her body to resemble a cube, leaving most of Murasaki's body immobile. Made it easier for Oboro to auction her off to be treated as a living object by her buyers.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Loses both her arms during a fight with Kiryuu at the beginning of her game.... she got better.
    • In Zero she had her legs sliced off by Edwin Black, but like was able to recover.
  • An Axe to Grind: Her signature weapon.
  • Baby Factory: In the Hell Knight Ingrid OVA, Kiryuu plan to subject both her and Ingrid to this fate in order to mass produce an army of Nabelius (cerberus-like hell hounds), however she was spared from this thanks to the timely rescue of her brother and Edwin Black.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Toward Sakura.
  • The Big Gal: Thanks to her Super Strength, she fills this role among the Taimanin along with her brother.
  • Bi the Way: Is one of the few confirmed bisexual characters in the series.
  • Body Horror: In the "fallen heroes" bad ending of TA3, when Oboro turned most of her body, except her head, into a cube.
  • Boobs of Steel: Played With. Although Murasaki is a busty physical powerhouse with a measurement of 86 cm, she still "falls behind" many of the "elementally powered" Taimanin like Sakura, Asuka, Rinko, and Shiranui, or speed-based Taimanin like Asagi.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In Taimanin Asagi 3, Sakura and Murasaki are killed by enemy soldiers and then absorbed by Edwin Black. They are later brought back to life as demonic futanari with few, if any, memories of Asagi, and under Black's instructions gleefully torture, rape, and kill their own students, and attempt to do the same to Asagi. In one of the endings, they even keep her as a sex slave.
  • Can't Act Perverted Toward a Love Interest: Inverted. Murasaki is normally a serious individual toward everybody but her love interest, Asagi. Especially in the ZERO continuation where she acts even more perverted toward Asagi than in the main continuation.
  • Combat Tentacles: Can sprout these from her back after she and Kiryuu perform a Fusion Dance. In Action Taimanin, Kiryuu was able to give her a copy of his powers, so that continuation she can create these without needing to fuse with him.
  • Cool Mask: A pink one with a butterfly design as part of her alternate outfit in Battle Arena.
  • Covert Pervert: Tries to act stern and serious most of the time, but has a hard time hiding her sexual desires for Asagi. Zigzagged in ZERO continuation as she doesn't try to her perverted urges toward Asagi, but acts stern and serious when Asagi is not around.
  • Defiled Forever: She isn't too happy about Kiryuu being one that took her virginity.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: When she transformed into a minion, she wanted to execute Asagi for being disrespectful.
  • Demoted to Extra: Goes from being the main protagonist in her own spin-off game, to become the Deuteragonist in the Hell Knight Ingrid OVA, to being only a supporting character in Taimanin Asagi 3 and TA0.
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Can't help staring at Asagi while they were changing in their swimsuits. In Taimanin Asagi Gaiden, Murasaki notices how Sakura's figure has been developing. In an inner dialog, she commented on how Sakura's figure would eventually be comparable to Asagi's. Hilariously, in TA0 she does not attempt to hide her desires to peak at Asagi, much to Asagi's annoyance.
  • Enemy Mine: During the climax of TM, Kiryuu forces Murasaki to team up with him to fight off Ingrid in exchange for Sakura's safety.
  • Fusion Dance: With Kiryuu during the canon ending of TM when she agreed to Kiryuu's Enemy Mine proposal. By kissing Murasaki, Kiryuu was able to transfer his consciousness into her body, but Murasaki's outward appearance remains the same. In this state, Kiryuu can Power-Up Murasaki's ninja abilities, give her access to his Combat Tentacles, and Spontaneous Weapon Creation abilities. Kiryuu admits that if he tried to do this with another being, the host's cells would quickly degrade, but Murasaki's Healing Factor offsets this weakness.
    • In Action Taimanin, Kiryuu found a way to copy his powers onto Murasaki without needing to fuse with her, giving her all the benefits of their fusion without actually needing him to be there.
  • Healing Factor: So long as her head and heart are intact, she can rapidly recover from any injury.
  • Hot Scientist: In Taimanin Asagi 3.
  • Jerkass With a Heart of Gold: Although she can be rather stuck up and is one of the least approachable out of all of Taimanin, she still deeply cares about her fellow Taimanin and will do anything to protect them
  • Meganekko: Wears glasses in her casual outfits.
  • Mighty Glacier: Her fighting style in Action Taimanin. Her attacks have the longest wind-ups, but deals out the most damage compared to the other playable characters.
  • The Protagonist: Of Taimanin Murasaki.
  • Red Baron: Thanks to her powerful Healing Factor, Murasaki is given the nickname of "The Undying" Taimanin.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: In Asagi's non-canon route in TA3 and in the OVA(see Brainwashed and Crazy).
    • In Action Taimanin, has a story event where Murasaki was kidnapped by the UFS's anti-NOMAD personnel and brainwashed to be a living weapon with her abilities enhanced by a prototype power suit, resulting in Secret Weapon M-01A: Assault Murasaki Yatsu. Thankfully, in her intimacy event, it's revealed that Asagi was eventually able to free Murasaki of her brainwashing.
  • School Idol
  • Sex Slave: Like with most Taimanin, she was forced to be this at one point or another.
  • She Is All Grown Up: Much like Sakura in Taimanin Asagi 3.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: After she and Kiryuu go through a Fusion Dance, Murasaki gains the ability to create her signature axe with the iron stored in her body.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Murasaki really, REALLY loves Asagi. To the point where she has Sakura steal Asagi's bath towels and seeing her naked gives Murasaki heat flashes.
  • Student Council President: In TA0.
  • Super Strength: Arguable the strongest Taimanin in terms of physical strength.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Let's just say she is not too happy with the fact that she has to work alongside Kiryuu, after he was forced to work for the Taimanins. Ironically, it's because of this she's also been assigned to keep Kiryuu in check, since his Villainous Crush on her makes her the perfect handler.
  • Tsundere: Tends to act like this towards Sakura.
  • Underwear of Power: As you can see for her profile image, her panties can be seen whenever she is wearing her Taimanin outfit, unlike most Taimanins who either wear a formfitting catsuit or a Leotard of Power.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Sakura. Murasaki is willing to suffer all kinds of humiliation if it means protecting her best friend. In a "non-canon" route in TM, even after Murasaki seemly devolves to Kiryuu's mind-broken slave, she will snap out of it if he kills Sakura, and then would leave Kiryuu to die at the hands of Ingrid or kill him herself.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: While she might not act like it most of the time, she does deeply care for Sakura. Not that she will admit it.
  • Workout Fanservice: One of her scenes in Battle Arena. Apparently, she sometimes likes to lift weights while topless. She is also given a CG scene in Action Taimanin, although this time she is wearing a sports bra.
  • Zettai Ryouiki: Grade A.

Kurou Yatsu

Kurou Yatsu Full Body

Often referred to as the Blind Taimanin Kurou is a veteran Taimanin and long time friend/subordinate to the Igawa family, He is also Murasaki older brother. Despite not being able to see he makes up for this with *Super Senses.Like his younger sister, Kurou has *Super Strength and a *Healing Factor. His signature weapons are a jack-knife and sub-machine gun.

Yukikaze Mizuki

Yukikaze full body

Often referred to as the Lightning Taimanin due to her unique ability to generate and manipulate lightning to power her twin handguns, which controls her lightning attacks. This ability was apparently taught to her by her late father. She is a student at Goshu Academy, along with her best friend and senior Taimanin, Rinko Akiyama, and boyfriend, Tatsurou Akiyama. She is also the daughter of Taimanin Shiranui Mizuki, who went missing 5 years before the advent of Taimanin Yukikaze.

Among the new generation of Taimanin, Yukikaze is considered one of the best. If it wasn't for her temper and pride, she has the potential of being the perfect operative of all the Taimanin. However, many don't realize that deep down, Yukikaze is a very shy and insecure girl who still having trouble making any romantic progress with her love interest, Tatsurou.

Yukikaze's "Lightning Art" gives her the ability to create and control electricity. Of all the ninja arts, Yukikaze's abilities are considered the most powerful in terms of offensive capabilities. However, the destructive nature of her ninja art, makes it very hard for her to control the output of her attacks. Thus she wields the handguns "Lightning Shooters" as limiters to help her proper channel her powers.

  • The Ace: A unique Deconstruction in her first game. Yukikaze is regarded as one of the best Taimanin of her generation and was able to make a name for herself very early in her career. Her natural abilities make her a good combat soldier, but in truth, she is actually a poor covert agent due to her inexperience and lack of social skills. However, this ends up being overlooked by people like Asagi, Tatsurou, and even Yukikaze herself, as they just assumed that she would be fine to do undercover work since she was been successful with everything else thus far. This resulted in Yukikaze letting herself be captured for real by relatively weak villains. Ironically, the only way to save her in TY1 is for Tatsurou to not put her on a pedestal and convince the Igawa sisters to check on her status when they initially assumed that a prodigy like Yukikaze would be fine.
  • A-Cup Angst: Hates it when characters point out her flat chest.
  • Ambiguously Bi: While Yukikaze clearly has feelings for Tatsurou, she does have her Les Yay moments with Rinko. It's worth mentioning that Rinko was Yukikaze's second kiss after Tatsurou, although at the time they were little kids that was just experimenting with the concept of kissing, so they didn't consider it as a "true kiss".
  • Ambiguously Brown: At first glance, however, it is revealed that her dark skin is just a suntan. Interestingly enough, she is able to still keep her tan even after spending a year living in an underground city in TY1 bad ending routes.
  • And I Must Scream: She has her arm and legs blown off and is stuffed in a briefcase in the double degrade (non-canon) ending, but it is made clear that she is still alive.
  • An Arm and a Leg: In the double degrade ending in TY1, she has her arm and legs blown off.
  • Babies Ever After: A dark variation as she is pregnant with Yazaki's child in the non-canon Fallen Yukikaze bad ending.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: Most of the cover art and promotional art featuring her doing this with Rinko.
  • Becoming the Mask: While investigating Under Eden, she was originally supposed to pretend to be captured and just act like she was a prostitute. However, things didn't go according to plan, and Yukikaze was forced to become an actual mentally broken Sex Slave in the OVA story-line and Bad Ending routes.
  • Berserk Button: Making fun of her for her small breast size or disrespecting her mother.
  • Bottomless Magazines: Justified. Her handguns use the electricity generated by Yukikaze herself as ammunition.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: With Tatsurou.
  • Defiled Forever: How she feels about herself after Real takes her virginity in the bad ending routes of TY1. Luckily for her, in the canon route, she has able to escape Under Eden while remaining a Technical Virgin.
  • Dirty Harriet: A rather unusual variation. She pretend to be capture in order to be sold as a prostitute. However, what she didn't realize that the place she was infiltrating specialized in slave prostitution. The place would brand their prostitute with a Slave Brand, forcing them to obey the people there. As a result, she was forced to be an actual prostitute.
  • Expy: Seems to be one for Lily Ramses Futaba from Tentacles and Witches, another one of Lilith-soft games that came out 2 years before Taimanin Yukikaze. Both share similar appearances, including similar outfits, tan skin, Girlish Pigtails, have short stature, and both are Pettanko. Also, both act like Tsundere toward their Love Interest, although Yukikaze is no where near as aggressive as Lily. There is also the fact both Lily and Yukikaze were created by the same artist, Aoi Nagisa.
  • Girlish Pigtails
  • Glass Cannon: Yukikaze has been stated to have quite possibly the most destructive powers of any Taimanin. However, she does seem to be one of the weakest Taimanin when it comes to physical strength, as shown in TY1 and Episode 1 of its OVA where a normal human was able to subdue her relatively easily when she does have her Handguns.
  • Go-Go Enslavement: When she was forced to be a slave prostitute at the brothel, Under Eden, she force to wear their standard uniform, which consist of high-heels shoes, stockings, evening gloves, and a near see-through micro bikini.
  • Guns Akimbo: Fight with twin pistols.
  • Handguns: Wields twin handguns that help her control her lightning attacks.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Yukikaze tends to act like a confident Little Miss Snarker when she is around most people, however in truth she actually very shy person who secretly very insecure about herself. It even mentioned that despite her popularity in Goshu Academy, she actually has very few friends in her social circle. Her insecurities are made very apparent in the visual novels that she stars in.
  • I Have Come Too Far: During the Bad Ending routes of her first game, Yukikaze would refuse to abort the mission despite the fact that she and Rinko were clearly tricked and forced to be an actual Sex Slave because of this. Although TY2 does reveal part of the reason for this mindset was due to the brainwashing microchip known as "Eve" implanted on her brainstem.
  • Kick the Son of a Bitch: In the canon route of TY1, after Asagi and Sakura intimidate Real into releasing Yukikaze and Rinko from their Slave Brands in exchange for his life, Yukikaze decides to blast him with a face full of lightning before the Taimanin makes their escape from Under Eden. He survived but is left severely injured. Considering what Real was going to do Yukikaze and Rinko in the bad ending routes, he certainly deserves it.
  • Leotard of Power: Part of her Taimanin outfit.
  • Little Miss Snarker: She is a young woman of short stature, and one of the sassiest members of the Taimanin.
  • Lovely Angels: With Rinko. From their contrasting personalities and appearances to their Guns vs. Swords dynamic.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: With the mid-aged Yazaki in the non-canon Fallen Yukikaze ending after being mind broken.
  • Momma's Girl: She deeply loves her mother and greatly desires her love and approval. Yukikaze is willing to go to great lengths to find her Missing Mom.
  • Pettanko: She is a flat-chested girl in her late teens. Although she is really insecure about it.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: One of the shortest characters (155cm or about 5'1ft) in the series, but arguably posses the most destructive powers.
  • The Protagonist: Of Taimanin Yukikaze 1 and 2.
  • Red Baron: Even though she just started her career as a Taimanin in her first game, she already built up a reputation for herself as the Lightning Taimanin.
  • Sex Slave: In the bad ending routes for both her games.
  • Shock and Awe: Her ninja ability, which was passed down for generations in her family. On a side note, Yukikaze needed her Handguns to control the lightning, but Tatsurou believes she will be able to master the ability to a point where she wouldn't need them anymore.
  • Rapunzel Hair: They reach down to her knees.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red Oni to Rinko's Blue Oni.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: Averted in TY1. Unlike Shiranui and Rinko, Yukikaze act purely as a Sex Slave if she ends up "mind broken" in one of the bad endings.
  • Shana Clone: A short, Pettanko, teenaged girl with Girlish Pigtails that is a Tsundere and the leading male characters "main" Love Interest. Checks on all accounts.
  • Skilled but Naive: While Yukikaze is undoubtedly a powerful Taimanin and can easily destroy a legion of demons in a straight-up fight, Yukikaze lacks the experience needed when dealing with missions that rely more on deception and undercover work. Tatsurou even states that Yukikaze has some difficulties talking to the other students at Goshu academy that are outside her friend circle. As a result, Zokuto was able to trick Yukikaze into letting herself be captured for real.
  • Tan Lines: They are quite noticeable when she is wearing anything that is more revealing than the Taimanin outfit, or nothing at all.
  • Technical Virgin: In the canon route of TY1 where she only had body modified by Under Eden and was rescued by Asagi and Sakura before she was forced to have sex with Real.
  • Trojan Prisoner: Acted as this along with Rinko in order to be sold at a brothel, Under Eden, in order to investigate her mother's disappearance. Naturally, things don't go according to plan.
  • Tsundere: Occasionally acts like this toward Tatsurou.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: In the Fallen Yukikaze route of TY1 where she becomes Yazaki's mistress. Yukikaze is a cute, attractive young woman while Yazaki is a middle-aged, overweight Gonk.
  • Unholy Matrimony: In the Fallen Yukikaze route, when she forms one with Yazaki. During this route, Yukikaze falls into despair after seeing her mother's Brainwashed and Crazy state. Afterward, she agrees to becomes Yazaki's second mistress so she at least be able to stay with Shiranui at all times. By the end of this route, Yukikaze has been driven insane to the point where she happily escorts Yazaki to Goshu Academy to show off her pregnancy and a mangled Rinko to Tatsurou and the other Taimanin.
  • Victim Falls For Rapist: Ends up becoming Yazaki's second mistress in the Fallen Yukikaze ending.
  • Zettai Ryouiki: Grade S.

Rinko Akiyama

Rinko Akiyama

Often referred to as the Slashing Taimanin due to her skills of swordsmanship with her katana, the Ishikiri Kanemitsu, which is apparently a family heirloom. Like many Taimanins, she attends Goshu Academy with her best friend, Yukikaze, and her younger brother, Tatsurou. She a successor of the 'Ittoryu', a fighting style that has been passed down in Akiyama clan for generations. Rinko is looked up to by many students at Goshu Academy, and has a secret growing fan club within the school.

Her ninja abilities are referred to as the "Void Arts" which gives her the ability to manipulate space. Some of her abilities include being able to increase her senses so she can see long distances, see at impossible angles, and through walls. She can also create portals that teleport her and others up to a range of 1 km (range is increased drastically in Action Taimanin). However, overuse of these abilities will cause fatigue.

  • The Ace: Like Yukikaze, she is a Deconstruction of this in TY1. Rinko is a genuinely good warrior, manage to make a bigger name for herself than Yukikaze very early in her career as a Taimanin, and would present herself as The Reliable One. However, this resulted in her becoming a victim of her own success as most people, including herself, just assumed she would be able to naturally succeed at any assignment that is given to her. Rinko in truth is Skilled but Naive. While she is a good soldier, she lacks the experience and knowledge to be a covert agent, resulting in her being tricked into letting herself be captured for real. Like Yukikaze, she is only saved from her fate when her brother and their allies don't put her on a pedestal, and take the time to actually check up on her when things started to get sketchy.
  • Adaptational Badass: In Action Taimanin. Since the game is a Hack and Slash, it does let Rinko show off more of her combat abilities than in the H-games. However, in the visual novels, its stated that her Space Master powers has a range on 1 km, while in Action Taimanin her Special Attack involves her teleporting a meteor from space.
  • Ambiguously Bi: According to her bio, many of her classmates have Mistaken her for Gay. While she is attracted to Tatsurou, Yukikaze was in fact her first kiss outside of family, granted they only saw it as "child's play" at the time.
  • And I Must Scream: She has her arm and legs blown off and is stuffed in a briefcase in the double degrade and Yukikaze degrade (non-canon) endings, but it is made clear that she is still alive.
  • Ancestral Weapon: Her katana, the Ishikiri Kanemitsu, which has been in the Akiyama family for generations.
  • Apologetic Attacker: In TY's Fallen Rinko route when she defends Yazaki and attacks Tatsurou after becoming Real's willing slave.
  • An Arm and a Leg: In the double degrade and Yukikaze ending in TY1, she has her arm and legs blown off.
  • Balloon Belly: Suffers one when Real subjected her to the "flesh vessel".
  • Berserk Button: While normally calm and composed, making fun of her large breasts is a quick way to making her angry.
  • Big Brother Attraction: Or younger brother attraction in this case. Rinko is actually sexually attracted to her younger brother, Tatsurou, and even wanted to give her virginity to him. This is averted in the OVA series, her desire for her brother was removed due to Adaptation Distillation.
  • Boobs of Steel: She is well known for her Gag Boobs in-series along with her fighting prowess. Her current bust size measures out at 87 cm and still growing.
  • Brother-Sister Incest: Although it is mostly one-sided, on Rinko's side. During the advents of Taimanin Yukikaze, Rinko would approach Tatsurou and offered to give her virginity to him before going on her mission to investigate Under Eden. But they don't go through with it when Rinko finds out that he has yet to have sex with Yukikaze, and wants Yukikaze to be her brother's first. In the sequel, however, players have the option of having Tatsurou agreeing to have sex with Rinko.
  • Buxom Is Better: Has one of the largest busts among the Taimanins, in this series that is saying a lot.
  • Cleavage Window: Has one on her Taimanin outfit, although it's placed slightly lower than most examples.
  • Climax Boss: With Shiranui in the non-canon Fallen Rinko route of TY1. While the big twist in the other bad ending routes is Shiranui's Brainwashed and Crazy state and how the heroes were set up, the big twist in this route is Rinko willing become Real's personal slave and her betrayal.
  • Colony Drop: Her Special Attack in Action Taimanin involves her using her Space Master ability to teleport a meteor from space and then cutting the meteor into pieces so that the debris will rain down on her opponents.
  • Cool Big Sis: Is this for Tatsurou, and acts like this toward Yukikaze.
  • Cool Sword: It's apparently a family heirloom.
  • Covert Pervert: While she is one of the more mature and responsible Taimanin, she can be pretty blunt when it comes to her sexuality. She outright order Tatsurou to take her virginity in the first TY, the only reason why they did not go through with it was because Rinko felt that Tatsurou's first time should be done with Yukikaze. That being said, she is also pretty open with the idea that she, Yukikaze, and Tatsurou should form a threesome relationship. Even when they were kids, Rinko was upset at Yukikaze and Tatsurou for "leaving her out" of their first kiss, and had both Tatsurou and Yukikaze kiss her.
  • Curtain Match the Windows: Purple hair, purple eyes.
  • Dark Mistress: To Real in the Fallen Rinko bad ending of TY1.
  • A Day in the Limelight: In the "training diary" section from the TY visual novel, which can only be unlocked after completing the other sections of the game. In the main story, Rinko and Yukikaze are separated by Real so that he could "train" them separately, with the story following Yukikaze point-of-view. The "training dairy" section details what has been happening to Rinko during the time the two were separated.
    • The second episode of the TY OVA, which is an animated adaption of the visual novel's "training dairy" section, also focuses on Rinko.
  • Defiled Forever: Her impression of herself when Real takes her virginity in the bad ending routes of TY1. Although in the canon route of TY1, she was able to escape Under Eden with her virginity intake.
  • Determinator: Was able to retain her sanity longer than Yukikaze during their time at Under Eden, in the bad ending(s) route. In the anime, takes spending an entire two week being endlessly raped by a demonic flesh machine until she finally broke down. In visual novel, she retained her sanity in 2 out of the 3 bad endings, and tries to save Tatsurou and Yukikaze from Under Eden despite the magical Slave Brand placed on her. It took a brainwashed Shiranui to subdue her.
  • Dirty Harriet: Initially, although she pretended to be captured to be sold as a prostitute, not necessarily disguise herself as one. However, like Yukikaze, she was forced to be an actual slave prostitute.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: Rinko was a secret fan club at Goshu Academy whose members are mostly made up of female students.
  • Expository Hairstyle Change: Surprisingly done quite often in the OVA series, as her hairstyle is changed in each episode. This seems to highlight the changes in her personality. During the first episode, she would wear her hair in a ponytail. Throughout the episode, she would act cheerful, wise, optimistic, and acts as a supporting friend to Yukikaze. In the second episode, she let her hair down. During this episode, she is much more stubborn and aggressive and spends most of the episode trying to resist the sexual torture that she was subjected to her. By the third episode, her hair is changed again to a side plait and is noticeable much more different than her hairstyle from the first episode. During this episode, she is now reduced to a quiet and submissive Sex Slave, who is no longer able to comforting her friend and won't even look at her, greatly differing from her personality from the first episode.
  • Expy: Seems to be one for Misao Yukishiro from Misao: Injoku Ninpouden, another Lilith-Soft game that came out before Taimanin Yukikaze.
    • On an interesting note, Misao is actually an Expy of Saeko Busujima from Highschool of the Dead, making Rinko an Expy of Saeko by extension.
  • Face-Heel Turn: During the non-canon "Fallen Rinko" ending. During this ending, she becomes Real's willing slave and even betrays Tatsurou and Yukikaze by fighting off Tatsurou. She averts Face Monster Turn due to the narration claiming that her change insides are done out of her own free will.
  • Foil: Is one for Yukikaze. While both are Taimanins born from an entire family of demon-hunting ninjas, the two could not be any more opposite of each other. Yukikaze is short, flat-chested, has an aggressive personality, and fights with guns. While Rinko is tall, large-breasted, has a calm and cool personality, and fights with a katana.
  • French Maid Outfit: Wears one in Taimanin Yukikaze 2.
  • Gag Boobs: Hates it when characters make fun of her for her large breasts, as her big bust has gotten her the unflattering nicknames of "Big Boobs Bitch" or "Titty Monster" from several criminals and demons.
  • Go-Go Enslavement: Like Yukikaze, she had to wear the standard uniform of slave prostitutes of Under Eden.
  • I Have Come Too Far: Like Yukikaze, during TY1 Rinko would refuse to abort her mission because she felt this way.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Despite her own sexual desires for her brother, she fully supports his relationship with Yukikaze. Although it's heavily implied that Rinko wants to, or a least won't mind, being in a threesome relationship with them.
  • Laughing Mad: In the OVA series and in one of the visual novel's "training dairy" section. After being endlessly sexual tortured for two weeks straight by Under Eden's "flesh vessel" (see Real's entry for more details), the first thing she does after being released was break down in broken laughter.
  • Lovely Angels: With Yukikaze.
  • Mad Love: To Real in the non-canon Fallen Rinko ending where she develops Stockholm Syndrome. She knows that she is nothing more than a slave to him, but is willing to betray her brother and Yukikaze for him.
  • Master Swordsman: Arguable, the best sword fighter the Taimanin have to offer, hence her title the Slashing Taimanin/Demon Cutting. It's worth mentioning that Rinko was stated to just as skilled as her father, who happened to be Asagi's teacher in swordsmanship.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: With Real in the non-canon Fallen Rinko ending.
  • Mistaken for Gay: According to her character bio, Rinko never showed any interest in men when she was at Goshu academy, leading to many of her classmates spreading rumors that she is secretly a lesbian. However, this is not really the case.
  • More Than Mind Control: In the non-canon "Fallen Rinko" route in TY1, Rinko finds Happiness in Slavery and develops Stockholm Syndrome for Real. Interestingly enough, the narrator claim Rinko's development into this is done partly out of her own free will, otherwise in all other endings, she has the willpower to fight against Under Eden at the climax of the game. This is subverted in TY2, where it is revealed that she was indeed brainwashed, thank to a microchip know as "Eve" that was implanted on her brain stem.
  • No Accounting for Taste: One of her attractions in TY1 include her biological brother. In the non-canon "Fallen Rinko" route, she falls in love with Real, an evil Fat Bastard Gonk. We would say the latter is due to brainwashing if the narration didn't make it clear that this attraction developed from More Than Mind Control. Although TY2 later Retcon her supposed attraction to Real when it's revealed that she was under the effects of a brainwashing microchip called "Eve".
  • Purple Is Power: Like Asagi, she wears a purple Taimanin outfit, and is stated to be one of the stronger Taimanins in the series. She also has purple eyes and purple hair.
  • Rapunzel Hair: Depending on the Artist her hair length would either just reach down past her knees, or even touching the ground while she is standing. Either way, her hair is very long.
  • Red Baron: The Slashing Taimanin (depending on the translation she could be referred to as the Slasher Taimanin, the Oni Slashing Taimanin, or Demon Cutting Taimanin).
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Yukikaze's Red.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: In the non-canon "Fallen Rinko" route in TY1, where she not only becomes Real's slave, but also his enforcer.
  • The Reliable One: Deconstructed in TY1. Being the Cool Big Sis in her circle of friends, Rinko feels the need to present herself as this. However, this ends up becoming a Fatal Flaw throughout TY1. Rinko's determination be a competent Taimanin resulted in her trying to salvage a mission that was clearly a setup, gives false reports to her allies to keep on going, and refuses to admit that she lost control of the situation until its too late. Its not until she is lectured by Igawa sisters (in the good ending route) does Rinko realizes her faults in needlessly endangering herself and Yukikaze despite her good intentions.
  • Sex Slave: In the bad ending routes in both Taimanin Yukikaze 1 and 2, and her fate in the OVA series.
  • Skilled but Naive: Between her mature personality and appearance, it's easy to forget that Rinko is still relatively new at being a Taimanin. As a result, Rinko doesn't seem to fully grasp how the Crapsack World around her works. Although she is not as naive as Yukikaze, she was still easily tricked by Zokuto into letting herself be captured for real.
  • Space Master: Her main power is her ability to control space within 1 km, with all her other abilities being byproducts of her "void arts". Rinko has mentioned there are limitations on what she can and cannot do.
  • Spy Catsuit: A purple one with a Cleavage Window.
  • Statuesque Stunner: According to her character bio, she is 172 cm tall (or 5'8 feet) and is currently the tallest female Taimanin in the series, but is no less attractive.
  • Stockholm Syndrome: In the non-canon "Fallen Rinko" route in TY1, Rinko falls in love with Real, the man who enslaved, raped, and tormented her, and become "a woman who would throw everything away for his sake".
  • Summon to Hand: Using her Space Master abilities, Rinko can summon her sword to her hand, so long it is within a 1 km radius of her location. It just not her weapon either, Rinko can summon any item, so long as she has a rough idea where it is within the radius.
  • Super Senses: One of her ninja abilities allows her to greatly enhance her senses. Her most-used ability is magical enhance her eyesight which allows her to see over great distances and observing things outside her line of sight.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Arguably, she can be considered one for Asagi. Since the TY spin-off series needs to focus on new characters, many believe she was created to be a stand-in for Asagi due to their similar appearance and role. It doesn't help that the TY's Big Bads tend to focus more on her than Yukikaze.
  • Technical Virgin: Like Yukikaze, in the canon route, Rinko was able to escape Under Eden before her virginity was taken by Real. Although she did still get her body modified to be more susceptible to sexual situations, which ended up being undone by Kiryuu anyway in TY2.
  • That Man Is Dead: A variation of this. In the non-canon Rinko degraded route "training dairies", the narrator state Rinko's old self has died after she become a willing slave to Real that (somehow) has orgasms out nothing by pure loyalty for him.
  • Thinking Up Portals: One of her unique abilities is to create portals that she can use to teleport herself and her companies up a distance of 1 km. However, creating them can be a bit taxing to her, so she only uses them on a few occasions.
  • Trojan Prisoner: Acts as this with Yukikaze in order to investigate the brothel Under Eden. It goes as well as you would expect.
  • True Companions: Took a mission where she knew that she would be forced to act as a prostitute, in an attempt to find a lead to the whereabouts of her friend's missing mother, a mission that Asagi greatly opposed to and was even encouraged not to do it, she still did it anyway for Yukikaze. That is some dedication, even if it is a little misplaced.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: In the Fallen Rinko route where she becomes Real's mistress. She is a sexy, busty ninja while Real, like his older brother Yazaki, is a middle-aged, overweight Gonk.
  • Undying Loyalty: Toward Yukikaze as she willing to endure the humiliation of being a slave of Under Eden if it means helping Yukikaze.
    • This is averted in the non-canon Fallen Rinko ending where she betrays Yukikaze after developing Stockholm Syndrome, become Real's willing slave and her loyalty switches to him. Rinko's final "training dairy" section reveals she can acquire orgasms out of nothing but declaring her pure loyalty toward him.
  • Unholy Matrimony: In the Fallen Rinko route, when she forms one with Real. During this route, after spending months acting as a Sex Slave for Under Eden, Rinko gives in to her sexual desire. She develops an obsession with Real's Biggus Dickus and consciously agrees to be his mistress/bitch. During the climax of this route, she betrays the Taimanin and subdues Tatsurou on Real's order. The conclusion of this route, which is shown in Rinko's training dairy segment, ends by showing Rinko reaching orgasm out of nothing but pure loyalty for Real when declaring her new undying devotion to him.
  • Victim Falls For Rapist: Falls in love with Real in the Fallen Rinko ending.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Kind of disappeared halfway through the third episode in the OVA, with no mention of what became of her. Although one can assume that she is still a Sex Slave for Under Eden and is possibly pregnant like Yukikaze was in the epilogue.
  • X-Ray Vision: Another one of her unique ninja abilities.
  • Zettai Ryouiki: Her Under Eden uniform in TY1, her maid outfit in TY2, as well as her school uniform, all being Grade A.

Tatsurou Akiyama

Tatsurou

The younger brother of Rinko, and the childhood friend/boyfriend of Yukikaze. Like his sister, his weapon of choice is a katana. He also has the ability to manipulate wind.

  • A Date with Rosie Palms: In several of the bad ending routes and in OVA ending, to videos of his (ex) girlfriend (and sister depending on the ending) being violated.
  • Bishonen: The only consistent trait of his character design.
  • Blinding Bangs: In the manga adaptation, likely given to him due to being The Faceless Supporting Protagonist for the visual novel.
  • Blow You Away: His ninja ability. Unlike most examples, Tatsurou uses his ability to alter his weight, allow his briefly glide in the air. He also manipulate the wind to reduce the a sense of presence, basically no one would hear him move around, like he was the air itself. Tatsurou has stated his abilities best used for stealth than combat.
  • Break the Cutie: Can be a sad victim of the Netorare Genre depending on if the player choose the Downer Ending route. This is played straight in the OVA series and manga adaptation.
  • Brother-Sister Incest: Averted in the first Taimanin Yukikaze. However, this could occur in the second game, depending on the player's choices.
  • Chick Magnet: Yukikaze, Shizuru, and even his own sister, are attracted to him.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: With Yukikaze.
  • Classical Antihero: Doesn't really have much self-confidence in himself, and is noticeable weaker than most of the other major Taimanins. He doesn't even fight anyone during the Action Prologue, something that Yukikaze even berate him for.
  • Darkest Hour: In a few of the possible endings and at the end of the OVA series.
  • Depending on the Artist: He is the only major Taimanin that doesn't have a character sprite. As a result, his physical appearance would often vary depending on adaptation. In the visual novel, he has green eyes, brown hair, and is stated to be taller than his sister. In the OVA series, he has purple hair and eyes, and is shorter than Rinko.
  • Distaff Counterpart: His character design in the OVA series is a younger gender swap version of his sister.
  • H-Game POV Character: Type II;B for the Taimanin Yukikaze series.
  • The Faceless: For most of the visual novel series, subverted in the OVA series. You do see his face at least once in the visual novels during one of Yukikaze's downer ending h-scenes, watching in horror as his girlfriend enjoys sex with the villains.
  • I Have No Son: In the non-canon "Fallen Rinko" route in TY1, he mentally disown his sister after Rinko betrayed him and Yukikaze.
  • The Load: Arguable the weakest Taimanin on this list.
  • Only Sane Man: Have to give him credit in the canon route of TY1 for being the only person to realize how stupid it is trust Yukikaze and Rinko's lives to a well known criminal and had to beg Asagi and Sakura to personally check on their students, which they are able to do by having Sakura use her Casting a Shadow ability to spy on Zokuto while hiding in his shadow, which begs to question of why they just did not do that in first place.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: While he is much more skilled than normal humans, he is nowhere near as strong as his sister or his girlfriend.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Of the two major male Taimanin, he is the "sensitive guy" to Kurou's "Manly Man".
  • Spell My Name with an "S": Depending on the translation, his name could be spelled out as either "Tatsurou" or "Tatsuro".
  • Supporting Protagonist: Many of the advents of Taimanin Yukikaze 1 and 2 are told from his point of view.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Is one for Kyousuke; he has a Childhood Friend Romance with a titular character, the Nice Guy, and a Bishonen in the OVA.

Shiranui Mizuki

Shiranui Mizuki

The mother of Yukikaze. Stated to be a powerful and well-respected Taimanin who is feared by many as the Phantom Tamanin. Although she claims to be "out of shape" compare to her younger years, her abilities are stated to be on par with Asagi. She disappeared 5 years prior to the advents of Taimanin Yukikaze during a mission investigating the brothel, Under Eden, located in the lawless town of Yomihara.

Shiranui's weapon of choice is a Naginata pole-arm and possesses ninja ability known as the Water Arts. Her ninja art allows her mold water into illusion and create water duplicates of herself. These abilities are very useful for causing distractions, as well as provide strong offensive and defensive capabilities.

Action Taimanin chucks all the above bad stuff out the window and assumes she's just fine, still on the good guy team, and even playable. This means she gets to work alongside her daughter and Rinko on heroic terms as well.

  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: This is somewhat justified since Yukikaze was born as a result of a Teen Pregnancy.
  • Abusive Parents: She was a loving mother to Yukikaze and honorary aunt to the Akiyama siblings, however thanks to Under Eden's conditioning, Shiranui becomes this in TY1. In that state, she would only love Yukikaze and Rinko if they become mind broken slaves like her. In the non-canon route, she is willing to let her's and Yazaki's infant daughter be sold into slavery to be a future Sex Slave when she get older... Yikes!
  • The Ace: She is stated to be one of the strongest and that her skills rival Asagi.
  • Action Mom: Stated to be almost as strong as Asagi.
    • Clarified in some more detail in Action Taimanin. She trumps Igawa Asagi in overall reach and is superior at hit multiple foes almost as hard as Asagi if not better in terms of raw power. Her only flaw is lack of agility. This also makes her a Foil to her daughter, who uses much weaker but faster guns and is much more agile.
  • Adaptational Badass: Action Taimanin, by virtue of taking place in a way less messed up alternate universe version of the franchise (where most of the darker events did not end half as bad as they otherwise did), allows Shiranai to completely sidestep all the bad things that happened to her in canon and lets her be playable on the good guy team alongside her daughter.
  • Babies Ever After: A dark example in the non-canon bad ending when she gives birth to Yazaki's daughter, Hotaru.
  • Blade on a Stick: Her weapon of choice.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In both Taimanin Yukikaze 1 and 2, as a result of Real's "training".
  • Boobs of Steel: She is one of the strongest Taimanin and currently has the largest breasts among all the Taimanin with a measurement of 112 cm. For reference, Asagi's largest known measurement is 90 cm in TA3, and Rinko who is known for her Gag Boobs has a measurement of 87 cm.
    • Has a direct gameplay role in Action Taimanin. Her knockback animation is one of the least pronounced of all the female characters, likely due to her "chest padding" absorbing any impacts.
  • Buxom Is Better: Many of the villains certainly think so.
    • Played for laughs in Action Taimanin. When she and her daughter have to enter Tokyo Kingdom to investigate a lead in the main story, the guards at the gates give all the ladies a pat-down for weapons (which were smuggled in via other means). Her daughter is rather peeved the guards seemed to agree with this trope, rather than be grateful to be spared what was essentially a quasi-legal groping.
  • The Brute: To the Under Eden Gang in TY1 seeing as she is the only antagonist in that game with fighting abilities.
  • Climax Boss: Of TY1. After everything the heroes went through to find her, their reunion is short-lived when it's revealed that Yazaki was the one who set up Yukikaze and Rinko to take on the mission that was doomed to fail as part of his Revenge. To top it all off, Yazaki also reveals that Shiranui has been Reforged Into a Minion.
  • Crusading Widower: In Action Taimanin. In the visual novel's timeline, Shiranui's husband died during her 5-year disappearance. However, in Action's timeline where Shiranui was not kidnapped by Ryuji and his minions, she got to stay with her family and briefly retired from her duties. But this time when her husband was killed, Shiranui decided to return to her career as a Taimanin to protect her daughter and the Akiyama siblings.
    • She also serves as Igawa Asagi's adjutant whenever Asagi is not around in AT, in a heroic inversion of her original VN role.
  • Dark Mistress: To Yazaki in TY1 and Ryuji in TY2.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: One of the very few Taimanin who can, in-story and in gameplay, go toe to toe with Astaroth and have a distinct advantage, canonically turning what had been a lopsided fight against the latter into a perfectly beatable one.
  • A Day in the Limelight: In the 5-minute "bonus episode" of the Taimanin Yukikaze OVA.
  • Elemental Shapeshifter: One of her ninja arts is to turn her body into water to avoid standard physical attacks.
  • Evil Costume Switch: In Taimanin Yukikaze 2. It's a rubber gimp suit with Wolverine Claws. There is a practical reason why the brainwashed Shiranui is wearing a rudder bodysuit, as it does protect her from Yukikaze's lightning attacks.
  • Face Monster Turn: After being brainwashed and sexually tortured for 5 years by Under Eden and Ryuji, Shiranui becomes an antagonist in TY1 and TY2.
  • Fallen Hero: Due to her Brainwashed and Crazy state as a result of Under Eden's conditioning, she is perfectly willing to attack her loved ones. Its worth mentioning that Shiranui's fallen status is one of the longest-running story arcs in the franchise that has been spanning over a decade in real life (TY1 was first released on 09-16-2011). Averted in Action Taimanin where her kidnapping and brainwashing did not occur in that timeline.
  • The Ghost: For most of the OVA series. She has yet to make a physical appearance outside the opening credits. It wouldn't be until the "bonus" episode would she make an actual appearance.
  • Hair Decorations: Has a large ribbon in her hair that almost makes it look like that she has bunny ears at first glance.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: In TY1. No matter what the main characters do, they are unable to defeat the Brainwashed and Crazy Shiranui. Yukikaze can't bring herself to fight her own mother and falls in despair after seeing her in this state, while the Akiyama siblings are hopelessly outmatched. The fight becomes even more hopeless in the Fallen Rinko route when Tatsurou is forced to fight her and a brainwashed Rinko. The only way the heroes can get a "good ending" is to abort their mission early and avoiding fighting her altogether.
  • Hot Mom: Just look at her.
  • Leotard of Power: Part of her Taimanin outfit. Like daughter, like a mother.
  • Like a Son to Me: Treats the Akiyama siblings like they are her own children. Take a dark turn in the Fallen Rinko route where the Brainwashed and Crazy Shiranui see the Rinko more as a daughter than a Yukikaze after Rinko undergoes a Face Heel Turn.
  • Made a Slave: While Shiranui was on a mission at Yomihara, she was capture by Real and the demon, Ryuji Kuroi. For years, Real was tasked with "training" Shiranui, until she became Yazaki and Ryuji's personal slave, for both combat and other...uses. Ryuji occasionally "lends" Shiranui to Under Eden, but most of the time she is usually stationed at Hijirisamu academy.
  • Making a Splash: Her unique ninja ability is to manipulate water. She can even turn her body into water.
  • Mighty Glacier: In Action Taimanin, she's powerful and has great range, but has low agility. Her attacks are intended to basically allow her to trap her opponents by charges her moves, hits the enemy with it, gets some space to charge another attack, and wash, rinse, repeat. Although for Competitive Balance, her attacks are given slower moments compare to the other playable Taimanin.
  • Missing Mom: Has been missing for 5 years while on a mission at the fictional town of Yomihara.
  • Red Baron: Made a name for herself as the Phantom Taimanin, or just the "Phantom" for short.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: Become Under Eden's top enforcer and Yazaki's mistress after being sexually tortured and brainwashed for 5 years.
  • Sex Slave: What became of her during her 5 years disappearance. However, considering she disappeared while investigating a corrupt brothel, who honestly did not see this coming.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: In Taimanin Yukikaze. She only appears for a few scenes in the game, however, she is the reason why Yukikaze and Rinko are investigating the brothel in the first place.
  • Teen Pregnancy: She was apparently 18 years old when she gave birth to Yukikaze.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her capture/disappearance was the catalyst that caused the advent of Taimanin Yukikaze 1 and 2. This sort of makes her indirectly responsible for all the suffering that Yukikaze, Rinko, Tatsurou, and Shizuru had to endure during the advents of those games.
  • Victim Falls For Rapist: Falls in love with Yazaki in TY1 and Ryuji in TY2.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Unlike in the visual novel, the detail of her disappearance and her fate is not revealed in the OVA series. This is partly subverted in the bonus episode, however, her overall fate remains unknown.
  • Wolverine Claws: As the "Rubber Woman" in TY2.

Asuka Kokawa

Koukawa asuka taimanin series and etc drawn by aoi nagisa metalder 3197b604699edb9d24b170350be060a4

A new Taimanin introduced in Taimanin Asagi 3 and also the second protagonist. She was Asagi's prodigy two years before the event of the third game, and her body had been damaged in battle around that time leaving her limbless. She then mysteriously disappeared after that incident. She shows up two years later in the third game having replaced her limbs with robotic arms and legs making her even more powerful than before.

  • Artificial Limbs: Both arms and both legs.
  • Babies Ever After: In the "Fallen Heroines" bad endings of TA3.
  • Biker Babe
  • Blade Below the Shoulder A combination of type 1 and type 2.
  • Blow You Away: Asuka's ninja art allows her to control wind which in turn grants her Flight.
  • Brother-Sister Incest: Although they're not related by blood it is mentioned that Asuka wants her stepbrother Kousuke to take her virginity.
  • Cyborg: Her arms and legs are mechanical.
  • Deuteragonist: Of Taimanin Asagi 3.
  • Expy: Of Sumireko Hanabusa from Akuma no Riddle. Like Asuka, Sumireko is a school girl with blue eyes, robotic limbs, and has a pink, form-fitting battle outfit.
  • Happily Adopted: While she still wants revenge on Edwin Black for killing her biological family, she still loves her adoptive mother and mentor, Asagi, even if she doesn't always show it.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She is an abrasive teen rebel, specially towards Asagi, but deep down she does care about her adoptive family.
  • Kamehame Hadoken: Thanks to her cybernetics she a particle accelerator on her legs.
  • Last of Her Kind: Edwin Black murders the entire Kokawa Clan leaving only Asuka and the real Oboro. Although by the midpoint of her route she truly is the last member of the Kokawa clan left.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Asuka is very fast on her feet and can dish out some pretty devastating attacks.
  • Not Blood Siblings: She is in love with her adoptive brother, Kousuke, who funny enough, is attracted to their adoptive mother, Asagi.
  • Red Baron: The Steel Taimanin of Death, or just Steel Taimanin for short.
  • Spin Attack: A good chunk of her move set in Action Taimanin are these.
  • Spy Catsuit: A pink one.
  • Wake Up, Go to School, Save the World
  • You Killed My Family: See Last of Her Kind above.

Shizuru Kosaka

Shizuru Kosaka

An exceptional smart Taimanin that specializes in missions of infiltration and solitary. She has the ability to manipulate nature and fights with a rose whip. She is sometimes refer to as "Shizuru the Flower". Introduced in Taimanin Yukikaze 2.

Kurenai Shinganji

Kurenai Shinjanji

A half-human, half-vampire/demon Taimanin from the Fuuma clan. Despite her demonic lineage, she has an intense hatred toward demons, due to them harming her clan in the past. She was taught swordmanship by her grandfather, Gen-an Shinganji. Due to her vampiric bloodline, she has enhanced physical strength, agility, and the ability to become stronger when exposed to blood. The more blood she is exposed to, the stronger she gets. She can also transform into a stronger vampiric version of herself. It would be revealed in her game that she is in fact the biological daughter of Edwin Black and sister to Felicia.

Her weapon of choice are twin kodachi blades that are named "Shirakami" and "Koma". Kurenai's ninja art is referred to as "Fuuton (Wind Art)". Her ninja art gives her the ability to create whirlwinds and powerful vacuums that she uses against her foes.

Ayame Makishima

Ayama Makishima

Another Taimanin from the Fuuma clan. An elegant and intelligent woman, who is Kurenai's best friend and loyal subordinate. Her weapon of choose is a sniper rifle, and is a exceptionally skill marksman. She possesses the unique ability of "the eye" which allows her to "read the wind", basically giving her super-human accuracy when sniping foes, bordering the ability of precognition (being able to see in the future). It is also heavily implied that her feelings for Kurenai are beyond simple friendship.

  • Ambiguously Gay: Seems to have a crush on Kurenai.
  • Awesomeness By Analysis: Her "eye" ability is basically this, board-lining the abilities of Combat Clairvoyance.
  • Bare Your Midriff
  • The Big Damn Kiss: Although it is not directly shown, Ayame does this to Kurenai near the end of Taimanin Kurenai so that Kurenai can absorb the blood from her bleeding mouth to trigger Kurenai's vampiric form.
  • Blood Magic: After being turned into a vampire by Kurenai to save her from dying when she pulled a Heroic Sacrifice, Ayame ended up gaining the same blood magic abilities as Kurenai.
  • Combat and Support: The Support to Kurenai's Combat.
  • Curtain Match the Windows: Green hair, green eyes.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She was turned into a vampire Kurenai in order to save Ayame's life after the climax of Taimanin Kurenai. But even as a vampire, Ayame was able retain her good looks from when she was a human.
  • Deuteragonist: Of Taimanin Kurenai.
  • Electric Torture: Like Kurenai, she subjected to this during her capture.
  • Friendly Sniper: One of the most skilled marksman in the series, and is generally a nice person outside of battle.
  • Handguns: Her secondary weapons.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Near the end of Taimanin Kurenai, Ayame bites her tongue to the point of excessive bleeding so that Kurenai can adsorb enough of her blood to be strong enough to defeat Felicia, at the cost of Ayame nearly dying for shock and blood loss. Although she does get better, at the cost of being turned into a vampire.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: Her "eye" ability allows to snipe enemies with super-human accuracy.
  • Lovely Angels: With Kurenai.
  • Painted-On Pants: Her Taimanin outfit consist of this, as opposed to the Spy Catsuit or Leotard of Power.
  • Undying Loyalty: Toward Kurenai.
  • Weak but Skilled: She doesn't possess the same close quarters combat prowess as most Taimanins, however she makes up for it with her skills of marksmanship and information gathering.

Kotarou Fuuma

Kotaro Fuuma

A first-year student in Gosha Academy like Yukikaze. The current head of the Fuuma clan. Since he hasn't awakened his clan's bloodline magical eye (which makes his right eye closed at all times), he is often scorned as "the Fuuma head with a missing eye". However, he compensates it with a deep knowledge of the Taimanin ninja arts he gained from reading old and secret tomes from the Gosha Academy's library, in turn making him an excellent commander and support.

The main protagonist of the Taimanin RPGX mobile/browser game, his story begins when Gosha Academy was attacked and he along with his half-sister Tokiko was forced to go rogue. He was also the main POV of Battle Arena with a different take to his RPGX self. Action Taimanin has him remain on the Taimanin side as the Mission Control due to having the least combat ability in that game.

  • The Ace: Downplayed. His status as the current head of the Fuuma clan makes the people at the academy view him as this despite his Non-Action Guy facade. His main strengths are his tactical skill and quick wit, which makes him very valuable as a special forces unit commander.
  • Alternate Self/Early Installment Weirdness: His Battle Arena self doesn't match his later personality shown in RPGX. In the former, he looks older, has a more generic H-game POV and behavior, and generally was more of a Jerkass than the Chivalrous Pervert established in the latter. Justified, as TABA was meant as a showcase for the girls in different situations.
  • Biggus Dickus: He is rather well-endowed.
  • Brother-Sister Incest: In the earlier depictions prior to Action Taimanin, it's possible for him to wind up sleeping with his half-sister Tokiko. AT keeps them platonic, though a few hints are dropped she might not be entirely happy with this but is just grateful he cares for her regardless.
  • Chick Magnet: Being the designated and actually capable male protagonist in a hentai game full of attractive girls makes him this. In-game though, it depends on the player since it relies on the Relationship Values they build with each respective girl.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: He's not above giving propositions with the Taimanin girls, including Asagi and original Oboro (who, by the time RPGX takes place, are at least two times his age). Fortunately, he respects them as much. This is shown in some of the H-scenes, in particular when he had comforting sex with Rinko after the latter was raped multiple times in a mission.
  • Expy: Averted, His commanding skills and protagonist status might mirrors Ritsuka Fujimaru, the protagonist from Fate/Grand Order. In fact, Kotarou is what Male!Fujimaru would be if FGO has explicit content, however, Taimanin Asagi Battle Arena where he debuted was released in 2014, months before FGO. He did share some similarities with Sasuke from Naruto, being a Rogue Protagonist from a family of ninjas that have magical eyes.
  • Eye Awaken: Inverted; he hasn't awakened his clan's specific magical eye, which makes his right eye closed at all times.
  • Hidden Depths: Deep down, he actually doesn't want to disappoint his half-sister Tokiko by being an inadequate clan head.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: He doesn't want to meddle in clan affairs and would much prefer to live as he wants.
    • Action Taimanin downplays this. He more resents the baggage of his family name and prefers to not dwell on it, but he doesn't run from the responsibility of dealing with it either.
  • Indy Ploy: He can come up with a winning plan in a pinch within seconds.
  • Legacy Character: In-universe, he is the latest descendant of the famous ninja Fuuma Kotarou, with each successive head of the clan inheriting the name.
  • Mission Control: His main role throughout Action Taimanin.
  • Munchkin: Invoked. He tries to maximize his "Metagamer" potential in Action Taimanin, specifically his command and tactical abilities, since lack of use of both Taimanin powers and regular use of one eye has crippled his physical ability.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: His family line has the same name as the historical ninja, and it's quite likely he was an In-Universe descendant, as the historical one was associated with demons and his name means "wind demon". The evil eyes of the game versions are also a reference to some depictions of the historical version.
  • Non-Action Guy: While he has the basic physicality and conditioning of a Taimanin, he's more or less stayed behind the front lines as the commander of his unit.
  • Rogue Protagonist: At the beginning of RPGX story, he went underground with Tokiko to deal with the game's first villain who invaded the academy. Averted later, when Asagi assigns him to be Gosha's special forces commander to go on various missions.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: His father, Danjou Fuuma, was on the opposing side of the Taimanins and killed by young Asagi and Oboro (the original one). He was still a young kid back then, yet he took it rather well and didn't even seem to hold a major grudge against the Taimanins and was counted as one of them, to the point of being appointed as the commander of their special forces by the same ninja who killed his dad.

Tokiko Fuuma

Tokiko Fuuma

Kotarou's older half-sister and stewardess of the Fuuma clan. She is the child that Kotarou's deceased father had with a concubine.  Upon her birth, she was adopted by the family that had served as stewards of the Fuuma clan for generations, and is a talented woman that has supported Kotarou in his endeavors. Her favored weapon is the kunai. She is praised as the Fuuma family's strongest kunai user, and her close-combat abilities is regarded as the greatest among the Taimanin. Unlike Kotarou, she is able to use the evil eye characteristic of the Fuuma family. Tokiko's evil eye is called "Clairvoyance" allows her to separate her vision from her physical body and send it off to wherever she may choose, allowing her to essentially sneak into any location. Unlike other evil eyes, it activates when her eyes are closed. Also, while her ability is in effect, by simply having her sight touch books, computers and so on, she can read the information contained within.

  • Astral Projection: Essentially what her evil eye ability is.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Her civilian outfit.
  • Badass Teacher: Serves as one of Gosha academy instructors.
  • Big Brother Worship: Or younger brother worship in her case. To her, Kotarou is the greatest person in the world.
  • Bodyguard Babes: To Kotarou.
  • Brother-Sister Incest: She has feelings for Kotarou, despite him being her half-brother.
  • Cool Big Sis: Being Kotarou's older half-sister.
  • Deuteragonist: Of Taimanin RPGX mobile/browser game.
  • Expy: If Kotarou in RPGX is Fujimaru in Grand Order, then Tokiko is basically Mashu, being a more combat capable Deuteragonist with feelings towards the main character. The main difference is Tokiko being more explicit towards Kotarou with some Brother-Sister Incest involved.
  • Heroic Bastard: Considering she is the daughter of an evil Taimanin and a prostitute (technically a concubine), she turned out rather well.
  • Leotard of Power: Part of her Taimanin outfit.
  • Rogue Protagonist: With Kotarou at the beginning of Taimanin RPGX.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: She is the daughter of Danjou Fuuma and as you can see from Kotarou Fuuma'ss entry, he wasn't exactly a nice guy.
  • Son of a Whore: Daughter of a concubine, if you are being technical.
  • Third Eye: Appears when she uses her evil eye ability, which can only be activated by Tokiko closes both her natural eyes.
  • Undying Loyalty: Kotarou's safety and his growth to being the head of the Fuuma clan is her number 1 priority.

Kana Yoshizawa

Taimanin kana

An ex-Taimanin who left her job in order to get married to a normal man. Over a decade after leaving the Taimanin, Kana finds herself living a quite, yet happy life of an ordinary housewife with her husband, Shingo Yoshizawa, and her mischievous son, Satoru Yoshizawa. Neither Shingo or Satoru know about Kana's former life as a Taimanin. Despite no longer being a Taimanin, she still has a strong sense justice and will do anything to protect the weak, whether it is her family or someone else. During her Taimanin days, she wields a combat knife and is stated be a "power-type" among the Taimanin.

  • Absolute Cleavage: When she is wearing her Taimanin outfit.
  • Action Mom: Subverted. She decided gave up her life of action and become a housewife of her own will.
  • Babies Ever After: A dark example in Breeding Cattle ending, where she was successfully kidnapped by the demons and was force to be their Baby Factory. The last time we see her in that route, Kana and the other missing ex-Taimanin are shown to be pregnant with demon children.
  • Baby Factory: In the Breeding Cattle route of Mama wa Taimanin, the imperial demons responsible for the abductions of retired Taimanin successfully kidnap her and force her to be this so that Kana and the other missing ex-Taimanin can give birth to more high-level demons.
  • Black Bra and Panties: Both to highlight her maturity and because Rule of Sexy.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Violet hair, violet eyes.
  • Expy:
    • A ninja with short, violet hair who used to fight demons in a near future setting. She is basically an older Ayane.
    • With Mama wa Taimanin being a Spiritual Successor to Lilith-Soft's Ochiru Hitozuma, Kana seems to be one to Sayoko Natsume. Both Kana and Sayoko are housewives with a young son and are seduced by their son's best friend.
  • Failure Hero: Goes without saying considering the game she stars in only features Downer Endings. However, Kana stands out by possibly having the worst track record of any Taimanin. To go into detail, in her game she over a decade into her retirement and thus is woefully out of practice when she is force to fight a relatively weak demon. Pathetically, gets blackmailed/guilt-tripped into having an affair with her son's best friend because she was not able to protect him from said demons. Then depending on what ending you get, she can potentially get captured by the demons and then be forced to be a Baby Factory, or become a Sex Slave to her son's best friend.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Not matter what Kana does in her story, she destine to get a Downer Ending. It does not help that the sub-heroine of her game and her only true ally was actually a mind break slave to the Big Bad and has setting Kana up her a fall the moment they met.
  • Fake the Dead: During the route she is captured by the imperial demons, "Mysterious man" has the mind broken Karin give a false report of Kana's death, so that no one would try looking for her after they force Kana to be a Baby Factory.
  • Hot Mom: She has a son and still looks great.
  • Housewife: Become this after her retirement.
  • Human Mom, Nonhuman Dad: Becomes the "human mom" to the demon child she becomes pregnant with at the Breeding Cattle route.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: The main reason why she tries not getting too involved with Karin's investigation, as she wants to put her Taimanin days behind her, and just assume the active Taimanin has the situation under control. That said, she stills feels an obligation to help whenever she can.
  • Knife Nut: Fought with a combat knife when she was a Taimanin.
  • Lady in Red: When she is in her Taimanin outfit.
  • Mama Bear: She is very protective of her family.
  • Mrs. Robinson: Ends up in an affair with Kenya Tadokoro, her son's best friends who is the same age as him.
  • The Protagonist: Of Mama wa Taimanin.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red oni to Karin's blue.
  • Retired Badass: She is an ex-Taimanin that retired to get married with her husband, Shingo Yoshizawa. Unfortunately, she is now a target because she is this and is severely out of practice.
  • Sex Slave: Mama wa Taimanin ultimately ends with Kana becoming this, either as Kenya's personal "pet" or a Baby Factory for some imperial demons' Super Breeding Program with the other missing retired Taimanin, depending on which bad ending the player gets.
  • Slave Brand: After captured by demons in one of Mama wa Taimanin's bad endings and was forced to be their Baby Factory, a "01" and bar code are tattooed to her left breast.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Being a over a decade into her retirement has left her severely out of practice. Its gotten so bad that Kana end up struggling against a Mook-level demon as the beginning of her story.
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair: Has bright violet hair.
  • Your Cheating Heart: Ends up with an affair with Kenya Tadokoro. The first time they had sex was to save Kenya from poison inflicted by the "Mysterious man". However, Kenya begins blackmailing Kana to have relationship with him, which Kana reluctantly agrees to.

Karin Sugita

Taimanin karin

A Taimanin investigating missing persons cases of several married ex-Taimanin. Karin is described as a person with a cool and calculated personality with many years of experience and a strong sense of responsibility. She was able to solve many difficult cases using her calm and accurate judgement. Due to her past achievements, she is considered highly elite among the Taimanin. Her investigation leads her to Kana, who she suspect will be targeted as the next victim of the abductions. She wields a pistol and a kunai attached to a wire.

  • Absolute Cleavage: When she is wearing her Taimanin outfit.
  • Baby Factory: In Mama wa Taimanin, Karin ultimate goal is to actually become this. The Breeding Cattle ending reveals that Karin has been the Mysterious Man's mind broken slave for several months before the start of the story after he sexually tortured her. Although he does not plan to have her impregnated until her role as The Mole is complete. Until then, the mind broken Karin continues to follows the demon's orders, driven by her desire to become a "demon breeding cow" as part of her "reward" for her service.
  • Balloon Belly: Suffers one when subjected to cum inflation from some Naughty Tentacles. This actually revealed to be an invoked example, as her inflated stomach was suppose to simulate a baby bump during her torture at the hands of the Mysterious Man.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: The after credit scene for the Breeding Cattle route of Mama wa Taimanin reveals how Karin ended up becoming the Mysterious Man's obedient slave. During her investigation, Karin was captured by the demon several months before the start of the main story. Mysterious Man then sexual tortured Karin using Naughty Tentacles. Throughout her torture, Karin was repeatably given a strong aphrodisiac, was raped by the tentacles, had her stomach inflated to simulate a baby bump, had tentacle spawns injected into her both vaginally and anally, and is then forced to discharge the spawns out of her body. Apparently, the idea was to simulate the sensation of being a demon Baby Factory and force Karin to feel pleasure from the experience as a means to brainwash her into wanting to become a demon brood mother. Ultimately, the Mysterious Man succeeded.
  • Big Damn Hero: Saves Kana from a demon near the beginning of Mama wa Taimanin.
  • Big Good: Technically, she is this in Mama wa Taimanin being the only active Taimanin in the story that is hunting down the "Mysterious Man" behind the disappearances of the married ex-Taimanin. Subverted, with reveal that she has been the Mysterious Man's mind broken slave for some time before the start of the story.
  • Cool Mask: It is both stylish and helps keep her from being easily identifiable since she has to do a lot of undercover work.
  • The Dragon: One of plot twists of Mama wa Taimanin, is that Karin was captured, tortured, and Reforged Into a Minion by the Mysterious Man several months before the start of the story. Karin in the present is serving the demon as his spy and has been secretly luring Kana into his hands.
  • Deuteragonist: Of Mama wa Taimanin with Kenya Tadokoro.
  • Emotionless Girl: Karin easily the most stoic of the Taimanin and would talk mostly in a monotone voice. But after The Reveal its implied that her emotionless persona is mostly just an act (see Not So Stoic).
  • Evil All Along: Downplayed. Karin was a heroic Taimanin at one point before her capture and torture at the hands of the Mysterious Man. By the time Kana meets her in Mama wa Taimanin, Karin was already under the demon's control and has been covertly corrupting Kana over the course of story.
  • Expy: With Mama wa Taimanin being a Spiritual Successor to Ochiru Hitozuma. Karin appears to be a Composite Character to the sisters Reiko Fuyuno and Ryouko Ayase. Her appearance and personality has a similar resembles to Reiko Fuyuno. Although her role as a female detective trying to take a down an organization that kidnap women and forces them into sex slavery matches up with Ryouko Ayase. Like Ryouko, she is only given 2 H-scenes in her game despite her important role to the story.
  • Face Full of Alien Wing-Wong: As part of her torture at the hands of Mysterious Man, Karin was forced to have tentacle spawns injected into her both vaginally and anally. She is then forced to discharges them out of body via the same way they were injected in. The method of torture was meant to simulate the sensation of giving birth.
  • Face Heel Turn: Undergoes one several months before that start of Mama wa Taimanin, as a results of Being Tortured Makes You Evil. She goes from being the Taimanin trying to stop the Mysterious Man to becoming The Dragon who is now aiding him by tracking down and corrupting retire ex-Taimanin under the pretenses that she is their ally.
  • Foil:
    • Like other sub-heroines in a Taimanin game, Karin is this to the main protagonist of her game, Kana Yoshizawa. Kana is a retired ex-Taimanin who is very passionate about protecting other and can be very emotional. Karin on the other hand is an active Taimanin who is cool and calculating to a point of coming off as unempathetic towards others. Kana would rather stay out of the affairs of the Taimanin, but will help where she can, while Karin is the one actively working to stop the demons. However, Karin does become a darker foil when its revealed that she is actually a mind broken minion to the Mysterious Man. Kana's greatest desire at the beginning of the game is to be a good wife and mother towards her family, while the mind broken Karin's greatest desire is to become a mother herself, but in the form of becoming a Baby Factory that will given birth to a new generation of super-powered demons. Ironically, in the Breeding Cattle ending, Kana would be the one to become a demon Baby Factory, while demons refuse to impregnate Karin as her pregnancy would draw suspicion and she would need to complete her role as The Mole for the demons to get her wish.
    • To Shiranui Mizuki, the other major Taimanin that was captured, Reforged Into a Minion, and now forced to serve an evil demon. After being "broken" both Taimanin became insane nymphomaniac who are actively trying to lure other Taimanin to the same fate as them. The difference between the two is that Shiranui is present more as a physical threat throughout the Taimanin Yukikaze series, while Karin prefers a more psychological approach and would manipulate others to corruption under the guise of being their ally. In the visual novel's story-line, the brainwashed Shiranui left the Taimanin and is known threat to them, while Karin change in alliances has gone undetected and she was able remain within them Taimanin as a secret spy.
  • Force Feeding: Subjected to this as part of this torture at the hands of the Mysterious Man. As she was repeatedly, forced to ingest tentacle sperm, along with having the stuff injected into her vaginally and anally, until she gained a Balloon Belly.
  • Foreshadowing: Karin status as a mind break slave serving as The Dragon to Mysterious Man is hinted at a couple of time.
    • In Mama wa Taimanin's opening, Kana can be seen fight Karin (a concept that was not used in the actual game), which seems odd for someone that is suppose to Kana's ally, hinting at Karin's role as a secret antagonist.
    • Despite being an active Taimanin, Karin is never shown killing a demon on-screen in Mama wa Taimanin. During Karin's Big Damn Hero moment where she saves Kana from a demon Mook, Karin doesn't actually kill the demon. Instead all she does is injury him and then chases the demon out of the park. After The Reveal, its pretty clear that Karin was letting the demon escape, and the whole thing was staged so that Karin would be able gain Kana's trust.
    • When Kenya was poison by Mysterious Man, Karin continue to act like Emotionless Girl showing little empathy towards Kana's and Kenya's situation and never once try take Kenya to Taimanin HQ for treatment. Instead she has Kana have sex with Kenya as a way to treat the poison, which is pretty immoral for a heroic Taimanin to let happen.
    • Karin's cold and distant attitude to the events around her is pretty reminiscent to the mind broken Shiranui, who would also acted with cold indifference towards most situations.
  • Great Detective: Serves as this for the Taimanin as she had solved many tough cases in the past and accurately guessed correctly that Kana is the next target of the abductors kidnapping married ex-Taimanin. Although that's because she was the one who targeted Kana in the first place.
  • Handguns: Fight with a pistol as 1 of her 2 main weapons.
  • Hospital Hottie: Goes undercover as a nurse during her investigation, and does have the medical know-how to be an actual nurse.
  • Ice Queen: Being a calm, cool, and logical individual makes her come off as this. Karin tends to act unusually cold for a Taimanin. Although looking back on it, her cold and distant personality actually foreshadows that she is secretly a mind broken slave.
  • The Last of These Is Not Like the Others: Karin proves to be quite the trend breaker in both Mama wa Taimanin's story and the franchise as a whole.
    • Karin, herself, ends up becoming a victim of her own investigation. However, unlike the other abducted victims, Karin is not an married ex-Taimanin and was both single and an active Taimanin during the time of her capture. She was Reforged Into a Minion and the imperial demons waited until there was no one left investigating the missing married ex-Taimanin to impregnate her, as the pregnancy would have drawn suspicion, making her the only victim to be impregnated by the end of the story.
    • Karin is one of the few Taimanin to be successfully mind broken in "main timeline" of their story and Reforged Into a Minion, along with Saya and Shirnaui. Like them, her Face Heel Turn occurred before the start of their debut game. Unlike them, Karin is the first major Taimanin to remain within organization after becoming mind broken, and the first mole within the Taimanin to remain undetected at the end of her game. This seems to be partly done to set up for a Sequel Hook should the story of Mama wa Taimanin were to continue.
    • Karin is the first sub-heroine in a Taimanin game to be revealed as an antagonist since the start of the story. Many other sub-heroine can undergo a Face Heel Turn in the bad ending routes of their games, but only near the end of their stories.
  • Leotard of Power: Part of her Taimanin outfit.
  • The Mole: After being Reforged Into a Minion by the "Mysterious Man" and his fellow demons, the Mysterious Man decides to use Karin as a spy against the Taimanin. He intend to have Karin lead the investigation to a dead end and claims to have "big plans for her" once he collected enough ex-Taimanin. Currently, she is the only traitor among the Taimanin that has yet to be detected.
  • More Than Mind Control: How the Mysterious Man was able to torture her into servitude is by forcing her to feel immense pleasure from the sensations of being impregnated, undergoing pregnancy, and giving birth via Naughty Tentacles, Balloon Belly, and Face Full of Alien Wing-Wong until Karin ultimately wants to become an actual demon Baby Factory. The mind broken Karin now follows the demons' order hoping to one day become their "breeding cattle". Uniquely, this is one of the few brainwashing methods that a villain in this series used that does not involve altering the mind itself.
  • Not So Stoic: With The Reveal that Karin was "reconditioned" to be The Dragon to the Mysterious Man, its implied that her Emotionless Girl persona is just an act. From what little we see of pre-brainwashed Karin, she was more emotive and prideful, and showed clears signs of distress when ravished by Naughty Tentacles. Post-brainwashed Kain is secretly a nymphomaniac who has the dark desire to become a demon Baby Factory.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue oni to Kana's red.
  • Reforged Into a Minion: After she ends up captured by the "Mysterious Man" several months before the start of the story, he sexually tortures her and conditions her to follows his commands. After the reconditioning, Karin has been the one picking the targets for abduction, manipulated Kana to eventually become "mind broken", leads the investigation to a dead end, gives false reports that the married ex-Taimanin were killed, and will eventually will become another Baby Factory for the demons as part of her "reward".
  • Sex Slave: In one of the endings of Mama wa Taimanin, she ends up captured and Reforged Into a Minion by the "Mysterious Man". While the demons hold off of using Karin as Baby Factory, they still use her to satisfy their lust and "reward" the mind broken Karin for her work.
  • Slave Brand: After captured by demons in one of Mama wa Taimanin's bad endings and Reforged Into a Minion, a "05" and bar code are tattooed to her right breast.
  • Villain Protagonist: She is one of the Deuteragonist of Mama wa Taimanin who has been secretly working for the demons.
  • Walking Spoiler: Its hard to talk about Karin without given out The Reveal she is actually a mind broken minion for the demons before the story even started in Mama wa Taimanin.

Su Jinlei

Su Jinlei

A soldier of the Chinese Union who works for the PLA Intelligence Agency. Su came to Japan to be an adjutant to Kotaro. She was described to be a child prodigy who was able to repeatedly skip grades and graduate at the top of her class, before being scouted as a lieutenant for a special company that prevent international terrorist attacks and the invasions from demons. Su's taimanin lineage comes from her great-grandfather and she decided to train at Gosha Academy to hone her ninja arts. She also views Asagi as her "master".

  • A-Cup Angst: Although she takes it better than Yukikaze, she does not like it when someone points out her small breasts.
  • All Chinese People Know Kung Fu: A Chinese woman that is a skilled martial artist and is studying ninjutsu.
  • Anime Chinese Girl: Unlike most of the Taimanin who come from Japan, Su hails from China.
  • BFS: Part of her Limit Break is to power up her Blade Below the Shoulder until they become absurdly large.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: The Energy Weapon variation.
  • But Not Too Foreign: She is at least 1/8 Japanese considering her great-grandfather was a Taimanin.
  • Child Prodigy: Was one during her youth.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She is originally unimpressed with any of the other members of the task force except her mentor Asagi, especially Fuuma.  However, when he demonstrates an unbreakable resolve she lacks during the mission, she comes to admire him, and might even have a bit of a crush on him during the epilogue.
  • Good Costume Switch: She mostly wears a Chinese army uniform before character development set in when she was Jerkass that followed the rhetoric of the Chinese Union. After her character development, she switches outfits to her Taimanin uniform.
  • Heel Realization: Originally a proud patriotic member of the Chinese Army who buys into their rhetoric about "Asia for the Asians," Su comes to see the hypocrisy of her nation's colonialism during the mission to Venam (and after being prodded about their being an illiberal police state by Yukikaze).  This is represented by her dressing like a Taimanin rather than her Chinese army uniform in the finale.
  • Hero Worshipper: To Asagi, as she was the only Taimanin that Su showed any respect for prior to her Character Development.
  • Ice Queen: Starts out Action Taimanin as this. Initially, she would come off as cold and rude to anyone who isn't Asagi. But after some character development, she does develop into a Defrosting Ice Queen.
  • Leotard of Power: Part of her Taimanin uniform for the Android version of Action Taimanin.
  • McNinja: Seeing as she is Chinese not Japanese. Granted, its implied that she is at least 1/8 Japanese from for great-grandfather's side, a former Taimanin, hence why she has the Superpowerful Genetics.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: She is actually one of the shortest Taimanin on this list, but still kicks plenty of ass.
  • Power Gives You Wings: When using her "Beast Art: Dragon Wings".
  • Rapunzel Hair: They reach down to her thighs.
  • Spell My Name with an "S": Depending on the translator, her name can be spelled as "Su Jinlei" like on Action's official website or "Su Jinglei" like in the official English translation of the game.
  • Stripperiffic: She certainly shows off a lot of skin, even by Taimanin standards. Averted in the IOS version of Action Taimanin where she wears a more concealing cat suit.
  • Tron Lines: One her Taimanin uniform, which can change from red to purple.
  • Yellow Eyes

Emily Simmons

Emily Simmons

A scientist that works for the anti-NOMAD faction of the United Federal States. In Action Taimanin, she was dispatched to Paradise Island to join Asagi's special task force and act as the team's field medic, making her a temporary member of the Taimanin. Emily strongly believes science and technology can be used to solve any problem. She has a deep fascination with the Taimanin due to their supernatural abilities and has a strong desire to study them, especially Asagi. Emily is gifted with photographic memory and parallel thinking. Although, Emily's main job is to provide medical support to the Taimanin; the super-advanced technology that she is equipped with makes her perfectly capable of dealing with combat situations.

  • Attack Drone: Has several of these on hand.
  • Badass Normal: Emily actually does not have the supernatural powers that other Taimanin possess. However, she is able to mow down legions of demons thanks to the advanced arsenal she has at her disposal.
  • Beauty Mark: On the left side of her face, just below her mouth.
  • Braids of Action
  • Combat Medic: She is assigned to be the field medic for Asagi's task force in Action Taimanin, but is more than capable of handling herself in a fight.
  • Freaky Is Cool: While the Taimanin consider them more a job skill and at worst necessary evils, Emily finds their Ninja Art skills amazing and wants to discover how to use them for the betterment of humanity. Also, while not approving of when demons use their abilities for evil ends, she does express interest in how they work and would like to invert them for better causes whenever possible.
  • Foreign Fanservice: Being an attractive American woman in Japan.
  • Good Counterpart: Can be seen as one to Kiryuu Sabato, the other Combat Medic that works with the Taimanin and has a special interest in studying their supernatural powers. Some obvious differences between the two scientists are their gender, and that Emily seems like a genuinely heroic person while Kiryuu is the Taimainin's Token Evil Teammate. Although both are Omnidisciplinary Scientists, Emily leans toward being more of a mechanical engineer, while Kiryuu specializes in Bio Augmentation.
  • Green Eyes
  • Hot Scientist: Her UFS colleagues remain professional about it, but they do note she has skills to go with her looks in the scientific department.
  • Leotard of Power
  • McNinja: Unlike the other Taimanin on this list, Emily is a Caucasian woman from America. Justified, as she is only a temporary member of the Taimanin on loan from the UFS government. One of her alternate costumes is even a Tamanin style uniform to indicate her honorary status.
  • Meganekko
  • Omnidisciplinary Scientist: She is a medical science that is also skilled in engineering.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: Being a blonde Caucasian woman from the U.F.S (the Taimaninverse's version of America).
  • Power Floats: Thanks to her tech, Emily actually glides around when in battle, as opposed to running.
  • Rapunzel Hair: Despite her hair being in a Braid of Action, it manages to reach down to her calves.
  • Shown Their Work: Emily will happily give exposition in some of the events showing she has a profound knowledge of practical biology and can easily converse on equal terms in medical jargon with Sabato.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Her brilliance is obvious, and the glasses seem to be rather important to her if her discomfort with being seen without them in her idle HQ animations indicates anything.
  • Tron Lines: Green ones on her uniform.
  • Walking Armory: Her arsenal includes two massive BFG, Attack Drones, Frickin' Laser Beams, and explosives.

Mari Shinohara

Mari Shinohara

A student attending Gosha Academy. Mari is gifted with Super Strength and the ability to manipulate the Earth around her. Despite her tremendous powers, Mari is rarely send out on missions due to her innate clumsiness often getting in the way of her performance. Mari idolizes Murasaki Yatsu, and hopes to one day be as cool as her hero, which many of her peers highly doubt will ever come to pass. In Action Taimanin, Mari serves as a Bonus Boss for the 5th advent story.

Maika Kamimura

Maika Kamimura

A Taimanin who has the power to manipulate fire. In terms of raw power, Maika's fire abilities rivals Yukikaze's lightning powers. However, like Yukikaze, Maika's fire powers are too powerful and too difficult to control. Maika's weapon of choice is a BFG, named the "Meido Bazooka" which she uses to properly channel her firepower, much like Yukikaze's hand guns. Maika is described as a very aggressive and tomboyish individual. Although Maika secretly has very a feminine side to her, as she is interested in fashion and keeps a treasure chest at home that is filled with cute stuff animals. She is also the younger sister to Azuma Kamimura from Cara the Bloodlord. In Action Taimanin, Maika serves as a Bonus Boss for the 9th advent story.
