The Great Catsby is a Korean webtoon written by Doha (Doha Kang) and SeungJin Kim.

Summary[]

Catsby, twenty-something nobody, loses his girl-friend to another man. A richer man. His pal Houndu treats him to wine, women and song, but there's no forgetting the lost Persu. The thousand humiliations of youth are poured upon Catsby, who feels far too much to begin with, and whose prospects go from bad to worse. Now he's petrified by his father, now drunk on the floor, now freaking over a blind-date, now convinced it's all for nothing.

The comic starts by introducing Catsby, a university graduate who is depressed for not being able to find a job. His girlfriend, Persu, announces that she will marry another man — one that is significantly older and richer than Catsby. Being depressed about this turn of events and general directionless of his life, Catsby goes to a dating website...

Daum published the comic in its original Korean on the internet. Net Comics, which holds the translation publication rights, published the comic in six volumes and on the internet in English. The title is a play on the classic novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby. This title along with Moss and Sunjeong Manhwa help popularize webtoons in the 2000's.
