The New Twenties

The current decade, the twenty-twenties (or, alternatively, the two thousand twenties). Unlike The New Tens, where the distinguishing "New" was arguably unnecessary, here it is very much necessary as "The Twenties" is most commonly associated with The Roaring Twenties.

While little can be said of this new decade as of this writing, its first year of the decade was marked by the outbreak of the COVID-19 disease. The pandemic began in late 2019 in China but it quickly spread across the globe to such an extent that it caused a mass shutdown of society in March 2020, moving many industries online, as governments attempted to quarantine people to delay the spread of the virus.
