A male purple Teletubby with a triangular antenna who is the tallest and oldest and who carries a red handbag, and has a clumsy and shy but kind and gentle demeanor.

- Gentle Giant: He may be tall, but he wouldn't harm a fly.

- In Touch with His Feminine Side: Gentle, purple, and unlike Dipsy, he doesn't mind wearing a a skirt.

- Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The Feminine Boy to Po's Masculine Girl.
- Mistaken for Gay: A controversy began in 1999 which revolved around him and the way he carried his bag like a woman's handbag. Jerry Falwell, for example, made a allegation that Tinky Winky is a "gay role model," if things couldn't get more bizarre.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The gentle Blue to Po's boisterous Red, and also Dipsy's sarcastic Red.
- Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: The Sensitive Guy to Dipsy's Manly Man.
- Ship Tease: Very often with Po.
- Vocal Dissonance: His voice is very deep and effeminate, but in real life, toddlers don't have deep voices like he does.
Dipsy[]
A male green Teletubby with a straight antenna who is the second tallest Teletubby who wears a black and white hat and can be stubborn and sarcastic but also playful and laid-back.
- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: The snarky Brooding Boy to Laa-Laa's jovial Gentle Girl.
- Butt Monkey: On a lesser extent than Tinky Winky, but he often loses his hat either to the wind or to the Noo-Noo, leading his to chase it or have a search party for it.
- The Comically Serious: He is the most serious of the group, and losing his hat is Serious Business to him.
- Hot-Blooded: In a similar vein to Po, he is very feisty and active.
- Hidden Heart of Gold: Even if he can be snarky, he still cares about the other Teletubbies even if he has a hard time showing it at times.
- Iconic Item: His black and white cow-spotted hat.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: The most stubborn, snarky, and sarcastic one of the bunch still cares about the others and wants to spend time with them, even if he wants to spend time alone at times.
- The Lancer: To Tinky Winky, due to being a complete opposite of him, such as disliking skirts.
- Like Brother and Sister: Has this relationship with Po at times in certain episodes.

A female Teletubby with a swirly antenna who is the third tallest Teletubby who plays with an orange giant ball and is very cheerful, bubbly, and lovable.
- Aerith and Bob: Her name is patterned with Nala from The Lion King.
- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: The jovial Gentle Girl to Dipsy's snarky Brooding Boy.
- Drama Queen: She is the most dramatic of the bunch.
- Fur of Gold, Heart of Gold: Her yellow fur goes well with her kindness to others.
- Genki Girl: Cheerful and outgoing.
- Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: She has a bubbly and cheerful demeanor, has a motherly side for animals, and enjoys singing, dancing, looking at flowers, and wearing pink skirts. But she also enjoys playing with her orange ball, and she doesn't mind jumping in puddles or rolling down hills at times.

- Action Girl: Downplayed. She is very energetic and adventurous, rides a scooter, and one time, she threw Tinky Winky's bag at Laa-Laa's ball in order to get it down from a tree.
- Badass Adorable: She may be cute, but she's feisty.
- Bilingual Bonus: She speaks Cantonese.
- The Cutie: Many fans thinks she's very cute.
- Determinator: She helps the others get out of problems easily.
- Dreadful Musician: She's not good at playing the piano.
- Fiery Redhead: Has red fur and is very boisterous.
- Genki Girl: Much like Laa-Laa, she is very energetic.
- Hot-Blooded: She's very energetic and feisty, often approaching things in a rough way.
