Anna Mae Bullock (November 26, 1939 - May 24, 2023), known by her stage name Tina Turner, was a singer, dancer, actress, and author, whose career spanned more than 60 years, earning her widespread recognition and numerous awards. Born and raised in the American South, she became a Swiss citizen later in life.
Her hit songs include "Proud Mary" (recorded with her then-husband Ike Turner), "What's Love Got to Do With It" (a song she initially hated), "Private Dancer," "Better Be Good to Me," "Typical Male," "The Best," and "I Don't Wanna Fight," among others. While she starred as Auntie Entity in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, her best-known connection to the film industry is probably the 1993 biopic What's Love Got to Do With It, which adapted Turner's 1986 autobiography I, Tina and starred Angela Bassett as Turner.
Also known for having one of the most iconic sets of legs in the entertainment industry.
