Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO Janna2000, SelfCloak or RRabbit42. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.
Base Breaker: There are as many people who see Taiga as a Jerk Sue, The Scrappy or Creator's Pet as much as there are people who like her. Of course, said people never got to the end and realized Taiga was a nice girl all along. She gives presents to orphans, forgives her father, grudgingly considers her estranged mother as still a part of her family, and does everything she can to set Minori up with Ryuuji.
Broken Base: The second half of the series, which goes into Darker and Edgier territory, focusing more on relationship drama than humor, polarizes a lot of fans.
It Was His Sled: It's well-known by this point by people both in and out of the fandom that: Taiga and Ryuuji get together.
Jerkass Woobie: Taiga, in the beginning. By the end, she's just a straight-up Woobie. Ami can sometimes qualify as well, particularly in her debut arc and toward the end.
Les Yay — Minori seems awfully close to Taiga at times.
There's also some Les Yay between Minori and Ami toward the end. This is Ami's character song; there's really only one person she could be singing to.
Nightmare Fuel — To some people, Inko-chan manages to be both more and less creepy in the manga version, as well. Or just disturbing in different ways. Others find him more Ugly Cute than anything.
Shipping Bed Death — Notably averted. Taiga and Ryuuji getting together didn't make the interest for their relationship wane any bit. If anything, it amplified it.
