- Disowned Adaptation: Peter Cullen, the original voice of Optimus Prime, voiced his disapproval at Netflix hiring non-union actors for the series, arguing that it sets a dangerous precedent for the future. Frank Welker, the original voice of G1 Megatron, and Gary Chalk, the original voice of Optimus Primal, voiced similar thoughts.
- Jossed: Many a fan thought that Ultra Magnus would be the next Sentinel Prime. Nope. He's one of the nicest characters in the setting.
- Milestone Celebration: Kingdom was one of many pieces of 2021 Transformers media celebrating the 25th anniversary of Beast Wars.
- Name's the Same: To the 2010 video game, though both properties are totally unrelated.
- Role Reprisal:
- Jake Tillman voices Optimus Prime once again following Transformers: Cyberverse.
- Jason Marnocha and Frank Todaro reprise their roles as Megatron and Starscream from the Prime Wars trilogy.
- Schedule Slip: The show was supposed to be released in June 2020 but the COVID-19 lockdown delayed the recordings of non-English dubs which delayed its release in every market until July 2020 given Netflix's policy of releasing their original content all at once around the world.
- Talking to Himself:
- Edward Bosco voices both Soundwave and Ultra Magnus.
- Jason Marnocha voices Megatron and Galvatron. Just as Jake Tillman voices Optimus and Nemesis Prime.
- What Could Have Been: A Lighter and Softer Sequel Series based on the Transformers: Legacy toyline was planned but Netflix passed on the pitch. Not wanting to sour relations with the streaming giant, Hasbro didn't push the issue. Had it been made, it would have been set centuries after Kingdom and featured Straxus as the Big Bad.
