Trope Workshop Guidelines

Heroic Element is the trope where The Protagonist is in a setting with elemental powers or magic that uses a particular element. The elements are:

They usually reflect the protagonist's personality while maybe showing how special they are. Other times, it may just be based on luck.

  • Zatch Bell is a Mamado partnered with Kyomaro that uses lightning magic with spells with the prefix 'Za.'
  • Naruto's chakra has an affinity for Wind Style, which is rare and is a form of Jutsu that uses the air and is known for its offensive versatility.
    • His son's chakra, Boruto, has an affinity for Lighting Style, a Jutsu category with techniques that paralyzes or shocks a target.
  • Recca Hanabishi uses the Flame of Recca, the ability of the Hanabishi family to make fire by creating friction, usually with a snap. He can also use his fire to surround his fist or release it like a flame thrower. The tekkō on his arm acts as a Power Limiter to keep his fire under control which also seals the Eight Flame Dragons, who each have their special fire techniques.
  • Mahou Sensei Negima: Negi Springfield has a strong affinity for wind and lightning magic. He even mastered a high-level spell that combines both elements. Due to these affinities, he also gains a high level of speed and reflexes.
  • Junk the Black Shadow uses shadow magic by manipulating his shadow like a tendril.
  • Re:Zero: Natsuki Subaru has a Magic affinity for Yin, a rare attribute. However, his Gate became defective due to overuse. He can use the Magic through the Artificial Spirit, Beatrice, instead, thanks to his contract with her.
  • In Kaze no Stigma, Kazuma Yagami was a member of the Kannagi household but was exiled due to his inability with Enjutsu and failure to become the clan heir at 18. He returns to his home at 22, where he has mastered Fujutusu while becoming a Contractor with the Wing King.
  • Magic Knight Rayearth: Hikaru Shidou is one of the three Magic Knights summoned to the world of Cephiro that awakens to fire magic while having a fiery and hot-blooded personality and red hair.

  • Will, the leader of W.I.T.C.H and Keeper of the Heart of Kandrakar. Her element as a Guardian is Quintessence, which means she has power over energy. Her abilities involve firing beams of energy or making constructs. She can also communicate with technology.
  • Marvel Comics:
    • Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four gained superpowers from cosmic radiation based on fire. He can envelop his body into flame while also using it to fly. Johnny can project his fire while also shaping it.
    • Ghost Rider is fueled by Hellfire which can be used to infuse into objects to alter and control them. The fire can also be projected from his body to burn the wicked and vile.

  • Skulduggery Pleasant is an Elemental sorcerer whose most potent element is Air, but he has also trained in other elements.
  • Cursed World: Rei Scios, who has Pyromancy as her Mancy, reacts based on her emotions and is hot enough to burn a person to ash.

  • Static Shock is a metahuman or 'Bang Baby' who can control electricity and electromagnetism, which he uses to fight crime throughout Dakota City.
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang uses Airbending, was a prodigy for mastering at a young age, and even invented a new technique called 'air scooter.' His being the Avatar also means he can bend the other elements of Water, Earth, and Fire.
  • Bloom, one of the members of Winx Club, is Fairy of the Dragon Flame. She uses fire-based spells while being more powerful than the average Fairy due to having the primordial Dragon Flame as the source of her magic.
