Trope Workshop Guidelines

If there is young people engaging in social movements (e.g. protests), there are chances for them to be portrayed as "being manipulated". Stating that the young people is "manipulated" suggests that 1) the youth is defined as not "mature enough" to be an advocate; 2) the youth's proposition is unreliable because of the youth's defined "immaturity"; 3) The defined "mature" people should teach the defined "immature" people at any means.

Truth in Television does exist and the trope is often invoked in order to discredit social movements including young people. Since such discrediting practice often involve the social structures in Real Life, it may be too controversial to mention Real Life examples.
