Trope Workshop:Pink and Orange Girls

Often girls are represented with pink, sometimes in contrast to a blue boy. When it comes to having a secondary female, having two pink girls would be too repetitive, so instead, the second girl is represented with orange. Part of a Color-Coded Characters scenario.

Examples of Pink and Orange Girls include:

Video Games

• In the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Amy Rose has pink fur and wears pink in some spin-off games while her best friend Cream the Rabbit has an orange dress, partially orange shoes and orange parts on her face and ears.
  • In Sonic Adventure, the two females appearing are Amy and Tikal, who has orange fur.
• In the Super Mario Bros. series, the main princesses, Peach and Daisy, wear pink and orange dresses, respectively.
• Sisters Kat and Ana in the Wario Ware series have pink and orange hair, respectively.

Western Animation

• Somewhat happens in Phineas and Ferb with the two main female characters, Isabella Garcia-Shapiro and Candace Flynn. Isabella wears mostly pink, but her hair is not pink, while Candace has orange hair, but does not wear orange.
  • Alternatively, with Isabella and the Fireside Girls. Isabella is usually dressed in pink, while the rest of the Fireside Girls are mostly seen wearing their orange uniforms.
• In the Sonic Boom series, this trope is fulfilled by Amy Rose, who also wears pink, and Sticks the Badger, who has mostly orange fur.
• Ed Edd n Eddy has Sarah being both Pink and Orange while Lee Kanker is the closest Orange Girl character.
  • Double D subverted the trope since he is Dude Looks Like a Lady.
