A Surveillance App is the smartphone app whose main function is to collect the sensitive information from the client and send said information to the server.

Based on the range of the sensitive information it collected, Surveillance App can be categorized as such:

• Type A: Surveillance app which collects specific type of sensitive information.
• Type B: Surveillance app which collects extensive types of sensitive information.

• The "Anti-Fraud App" in mainland China has been indicated as Type 2 surveillance app. Compulsive measures have been taken to promote the installment and registration of the app.
