Ultimate Letdown. is a supervillain (and hero) Web Comic created by Zachary Smith. The comic revolves around the antics of Jerry Clinch, an Evil Genius, who builds a gigantic Doomsday Device called the Doom Ball with which he hopes to Take Over the World.

The cast includes:

Jerry is the leading man. In a world where super-powered people roam the streets, Jerry desperately struggles to make a name for himself. Deeply envious of those with super-powers Jerry has built the greatest doomsday device the world has ever seen: the Doom Ball, a 40-ton leviathan of death. Jerry’s stated ambition is to take over the world; however, he often steps directly into the pratfall of petty squabbles with supers – both hero and villain.

Kevin is the right-hand man on the Doom Ball. He is logical, calculating, and cautious; everything that Jerry is not. Kevin is very level-headed, keeping his cool is almost any situation. Though Jerry almost always gets his way (it IS his Doom Ball after all) Kevin follows close behind to make sure Jerry doesn’t hurt himself during one of his “plans”.

Ben is a telekenetic with very limited control of his ability. While he seems to have a great deal of latent talent, he is rarely shown using it. Ben is a classic underachiever.

Jack at first appears to be a legitimate threat to Jerry before being revealed as a seemingly regular guy who knew Jerry from high school.

This webcomic provides examples of:[]

  • Badass Normal: Jerry has no powers; yet, he is able to build powerful Doomsday Devices.
  • Bullet Catch: Ben is shown catching bullets with telekineses.
  • Class Reunion: Jerry is revealed to have made major strides since being a Goth in high school.
  • Doomsday Device: The Doomball is one on a massive scale, first shown when it annihilates the local Mayor's office.
  • Evil Genius: Jerry and his powers of invention.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Jerry's construction of the Doom Ball.
  • Harmless Villain: Jerry allows himself to be ticketed by a police officer during one of his "evil" plots. He also seems to think that his fugly hat will intimidate the local mayor.
  • Humongous Mecha: The Doom Ball is 40 tons of steel.
  • Mind Over Matter: Ben is a telekenetic capable of catching bullets.
  • Take Over the World: The riders of the Doom Ball are on a mission to conquer the world.
  • Villain Protagonist: The main character wants to take over the world.
