Ultraman Orb is a 2016 tokusatsu series produced by Tsuburaya Productions. It serves as the 50th anniversary entry in the long-running Ultra Series. It was preceded by Ultraman X and is the first series since Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle: Never Ending Odyssey not to be a part of Ultraman Retsuden. It's also the first show since Ultraman Mebius to air on Saturdays. The series would be later succeeded by Ultraman Geed.

Tropes used in Ultraman Orb include:
  • An Aesop: We can't let ourselves be stuck into the past forever. We all have to keep pushing forward regardless of how life can be cruel and unfair, for better and for worse.
    • Episode 9 serves as a reminder about being ourselves and shouldn't force a person into pretending as someone they are not.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Magata-no-Orochi is defeated, Gai parted ways with Naomi and company as he continues his adventures around the world. And, Juggler isn't quite dead yet, as he returns in The Movie.
  • Book Ends:
    • Gai's adventures on Earth begins and ends with him playing his Orbnica.
    • The series' first and final battles has Orb transforming into the very first fusion form: Spacium Zepellion.
  • Broken Pedestal: Subverted in episode 9. The Alien Babarue named Babaryu impersonating Ultraman Orb was outed as an impostor right in front of Jetta and the kids during his fight against Cherubim. Rather than feeling betrayed, Jetta and the kids instead cheered on for him as the said alien learns what its like to be himself.
  • But Now I Must Go: Gai leaves the SSSP after defeating Magata-no-Orochi.
  • Central Theme:
    • Confronting and letting go of the past (especially one's greatest failures) as we move forward in the present.
    • No matter how a person has done wrong, that doesn't mean that they are completely beyond redemption and forgiveness.
