Tropedia

  • Before making a single edit, Tropedia EXPECTS our site policy and manual of style to be followed. Failure to do so may result in deletion of contributions and blocks of users who refuse to learn to do so. Our policies can be reviewed here.
  • All images MUST now have proper attribution, those who neglect to assign at least the "fair use" licensing to an image may have it deleted. All new pages should use the preloadable templates feature on the edit page to add the appropriate basic page markup. Pages that don't do this will be subject to deletion, with or without explanation.
  • All new trope pages will be made with the "Trope Workshop" found on the "Troper Tools" menu and worked on until they have at least three examples. The Trope workshop specific templates can then be removed and it will be regarded as a regular trope page after being moved to the Main namespace. THIS SHOULD BE WORKING NOW, REPORT ANY ISSUES TO SelfCloak. DON'T MAKE PAGES MANUALLY UNLESS A TEMPLATE IS BROKEN, AND REPORT IT THAT IS THE CASE. PAGES WILL BE DELETED OTHERWISE IF THEY ARE MISSING BASIC MARKUP.

Tropedia

Hi, everyone. It's been a while since I've last logged in to Tropedia. I realize that I can't just leave everyone in the dark over what's happening on my end, so I've decided that I should make some things clear.

As many of you have noticed my overall activity on Tropedia has decreased lately, and there's actually three reasons for that.

The first reason is that, as of this writing, I am 24 years old, and I am a lot busier than I use to be. I've been doing an OJT where I help repair computers and laptops and refurbish them. I've been spending the last few years trying to figure out what I want to do in life, but I realized that I actually enjoy repairing an refurbishing computers, so I am trying to focus more on that.

The second reason... I am going to be completely honest, throughout the past four years, Tropedia has become a lot more bombarded with obnoxious political opinions from both left-wing users and right-wing users alike, and it is just so tiring trying to keep the peace here. And as a side effect, this has helped kill my overall enjoyment of Tropedia (but it is not the only cause, which I will explain in just a bit).

And finally, I've simply been losing interest in troping as a whole. Even without all aforementioned political stuff, I haven't really been as interested in the whole thing as I had been five years ago. As a result, maintaining Tropedia feels more like a chore than anything these days.

So, with all of that said, I will be stepping down as the head admin of Tropedia. I will be asking SelfCloak to see if he can find a suitable replacement for me.

Thank you for reading, and I sincerely wish nothing but the best for everyone else on Tropedia moving forward.
