You're the Man Now Dog was a popular humor site.

The creator, Max Goldberg, made the first site after watching the trailer to Finding Forrester. This first site (recreated here) consisted of some ASCII art and Sean Connery's "You're the man now, dog!" line from the trailer. As other people started to create their own Spinoffs of the page by copying the code, Max started listing them. Eventually the list became overly long, so Max bought an entire domain for the sites and made an easy-to-use site generator. And the rest is history. New York Magazine credits the site with setting the pattern for what became known as "internet humor"—random or nonsensical and motivated by the intent to confuse or troll those not in on the joke.

The main purpose of the site was to allow users to create their own pages, or YTMNDs, using a GIF animation, an MP3 file and the site's patented zooming text.

It has its own wiki.

It abruptly vanished from the web over the weekend of May 11–12, 2019.

Tropes used in YTMND include:

• Abandoned Area: The Abandoned Theme Park
  • YTMND itself is mostly abandoned, for that matter.
• A God Am I: Ted Danson
• Alternate Universe:
  • After the trailer that started it all was posted as an YTMND, many users started wondering what would have happened if Max had decided to use one of Sean Connery's other lines, namely "Punch the keys, for God's sake!" or "Yes...Yes!". Eventually, some users started creating Bizarro Universe versions of popular YTMND fads under the label of PTKFGS. Soon after, sites with the YESYES label followed, which is basically a Take a Third Option spin on the fads. Then, since Connery only had these three lines in the trailer, many users worked around it by using some of his other lines from the film to create a fourth Alternate Universe. Which one of the many candidates is the true fourth universe is still under dispute, but the general consensus seems to be that the fourth universe is in fact a Multiverse known collectively as "Fourth Corner".
  • HEH is considered by some to be the official 4th Corner Universe, as it is also in the trailer. However, those against this idea point out that HEH is technically a part of the "Yes...Yes!" line.
  • Let's not forget YTMNSFW, the Not Safe for Work version suitable for more mature stuff.
• Animal Reaction Shot: Dramatic Prairie Dog.
• Animal Superheroes: Supercat (Happycat/The NEDM cat sometimes takes this role too)
• Antiquated Linguistics: Used in the Medieval fad (although some people get it wrong and cross the territory into Spock Speak instead
• Anything That Moves: Dr-L337
• Beam Spam: Baron Lasers
• Big No: Darth Vader's NOOOOOOO was a major fad which started from a leaked scene before the movie was released. In addition, often other characters are made to say the line
• Bury Your Gays: The FaggotPSA gang seems to often enforce this
• Cloudcuckoolander: Vinny Weapons, the user who always made the same comment: "the robots have taken me. please send help." Also, the behavior of trolls Pilleater and Johnny Lurg often reaches this territory, such as the time the former user pretended that he went blind. Two months later, he posted, "I can see again!" The user zomglolwtfzor usually epitomizes this trope, but occasionally breaks character.
• Complete Monster: In-Universe:

• Conqueror From the Future: Future Conan
• Media Research Failure: The site "World of Warcraft is Serious Business" misreports it as a recording from a World of Warcraft ventrilo - Anyone who's played the game can tell you there's almost no way for someone to steal their "Cloudsong", nor is there a "Mordred" server in the game. That's because the drama was actually around Dark Ages Of Camelot and not World of Warcraft.
• Creepy Basement: The short - lived "We never go down there anymore" fad.
• Cute but Cacophonic: "How to care for your pet Bat" (batt.ytmnd.com)
• Deconstruction: FAMILY GUY 311 EMISSION IMPOSSIBLE and Everysentenceutteredinthegodfath.
• Dramatic Reading: "The Bauman E-mails: A Dramatic Reading" is the Trope Codifier, if not the Trope Maker.
• Everything's Better with Dinosaurs: Raptor Jesus
• Forced Meme: Here's a list of them.
• For the Evulz: Seemingly Moon Man's primary motivation, aside from racism
• Frickin' Laser Beams: Baron Lasers
• Giant Enemy Crab: YTMND was one of the first sites to popularize the phrase, and it has become somewhat of an accepted fact that in the YTMND universe, Samurai actually did battle Giant Enemy Crabs in Ancient Japan
• Greedy Jew: Many users poke fun at the site's owner, Max Goldberg, with this stereotype. He usually takes it in stride.
• Hatedom:
  • God help you if you make an anime-related site on YTMND, the guide to creating a site even warns you against it.
  • Ironically, ytmnd.co.jp is in the hall of fame and Kaneda! is a mod favorite. Cosby Bebop is also popular.
  • Often an anime site will be immediately downvoted, and a comment will be posted linking here
  • Same goes to MMORPG stuff. This was because, in the early days of YTMND, many World of Warcraft related YTMNDs were created and linked to the WoW forums, generating massive numbers of views every day, which annoyed the general YTMND population, having to see sites containing inside jokes about a game most of them didn't play on the front page day after day. This still happens occasionally, and because of this, WoW - related sites are usually downvoted upon creation.
  • A single silly page with some sound loop is serious business.
  • YTMND also hates 4chan with a passion.
• He-Man Woman Hater: Chad Wardenn
• Jail Bait Wait: Many users eagerly counted down the days until Julianna Rose-Mauriello, the actress who played Stephanie on LazyTown, would become 18, and made many YTMNDs celebrating the occasion when it actually did happen
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: According to this Gizmodo interview, Max Goldberg, the owner of YTMND, is planning to shut it down. On May 12, 2018, the site stopped accepting new user signups. The good news is that some YTMND material has been archived to YouTube; the bad news is that it's still only some. There are efforts to create a replacement site, but unfortunately, these are going nowhere. There is also an effort to archive the site, but that's progressing pretty slowly. Archive.is and Webcite both malfunction when loading YTMND, so a lot of material may be lost forever.
• Killer Rabbit: Happycat/The NEDM cat, who often burns humans alive as retaliation for humans burning cats
• Luck-Based Mission: The game itself.
• Mundane Made Awesome:
  • The Epic Manuver fad, wherein people do things in an unnecessarily epic manner, sometimes failing.
  • There was a civil war once over whether the Epic Maneuver YTMNDs should be about actually epic maneuvers or mundane tasks passed off as epic.
• Names to Run Away From Really Fast: Baron Lasers
• Noodle Implements: Macgyver must do something. He is given 14 seconds and some random junk. He usually succeeds.
• Nothing Is Scarier: Played for Laughs in the "For the last time" fad. Taken well Up to Eleven in this particular YTMND, however. There's a screamer at the end.
• Opinion Myopia:
  • The user Umfuld, who thinks only the kinds of sites he makes are any good and anyone who makes different kinds of sites is deliberately trolling and trying to ruin YTMND, and he does things like automatically downvoting the sites of every user he doesn't like using multiple alternate accounts because of this
  • This was also the reasoning of the famed user "inkdrinker", who believed that the only YTMND's that were any good followed the original site's mission of "picture, text, sound". He downvoted thousands of pages that included videos, effects, soundclips that went on longer than a few seconds or anything that bucked the trend of the original sites.
• Overly Long Gag: The "Extended Cut" Fad.
• Overly Long Title: "You Let Me Take It On This One 'Cause You're Too Scared To Walk Out The Door And Do Something For Somebody Else", based on a line from the Calling the Old Man Out scene in Finding Forrester. Incidentally, the actual movie had a word cut out for the trailer ("...'cause you're too damn scared...").
• Perverse Sexual Lust: Stephanie from LazyTown (to the chagrin of many YTMNDers)
• Politically-Incorrect Villain: Moon Man
• Quintessential British Gentleman:
  • Charles Moonington, Moon Man's stereotypical British alter ego
  • Prehistoric Dinosaur, a parody of Moon Man related to The Land Before Time, also has a stereotypical British alter ego, Topsy Hornington.
• Race Against the Clock: Eon8. Subverted by the fact that the countdown was not stopped, but it turned out to all be a hoax and nothing happened. Or did it?
• Sensory Abuse: Shock sites are quite common, with the most common tactic being amplified and distorted sound.
• Sitcom Arch Nemesis: Ebaum's World; many YTMNDers declared war on the aforementioned webpage over a Lindsay Lohan picture they stole.
• Stylistic Suck: The "Age 9" and "Crap TMND" fads.
• Synthetic Voice Actor: Used in several fads such as Moon Man and TTSTMND
• Teens Are Monsters: The FaggotPSA gang
• The End of the World as We Know It: "The end of our World" minifad which showed several situations as to how this could happen (some more realistic than others)
• This Is for Emphasis, Bitch: This site
• Those Two Guys: Lcadwallader and dunsparce/abomstar
• Tradesnark: Popularized by the user Murdarmachene
• Vampire Vannabe: Eric the Vampire
• Villain Protagonist: Moon Man, in many of his sites
